Title: [Portuguese] - Quem tem medo dos evangélicos?: Religião e democracia no Brasil de hoje Author: Gutierres Fernandes Siqueira Narrator: Rodrigo Dorado Format: Abridged Audiobook Length: 3 hours 16 minutes Release date: September 28, 2022 Genres: Current Affairs, Law, & Politics Publisher's Summary: O crescimento exponencial do movimento evangélico no Brasil tem chamado atenção da grande imprensa e da academia.

  • Broken Yard: The Fall of the Metropolitan Police by Tom Harper
Please visit https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/1/audiobook/637391 to listen full audiobooks. Title: Broken Yard: The Fall of the Metropolitan Police Author: Tom Harper Narrator: Anon Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 13 hours 36 minutes Release date: September 27, 2022 Genres: Current Affairs, Law, & Politics Publisher's Summary: Broken Yard is a riveting, eye-opening account of corruption, racism and mismanagement inside Britain's most famous police force. The book charts Scotland Yard's fall from a position of unparalleled power to the troubled and discredited organisation we see today, barely trusted by its Westminster masters and struggling to perform its most basic function: the protection of the public. Barely a week goes by without the Metropolitan Police Service plunging into a new crisis. Steeped in ignominy and depleted in numbers, the Met is a shadow of its former self. From the Stephen Lawrence case to the murder of Sarah Everard, Tom Harper examines the most notorious cases involving the Met over the past thirty years. The result is a devastating picture of a world-famous police force riven with corruption, misogyny and rank incompetence. As a top investigative reporter at the Sunday Times and The Independent, Tom Harper covered Scotland Yard for fifteen years, beginning not long after the fatal shooting of Jean Charles de Menezes, an innocent Brazilian killed by Met police officers after being mistaken for a terror suspect in 2005. Since then, reporting on Scotland Yard has been akin to witnessing a slow-motion car crash.

Please visit https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/1/audiobook/638956 to listen full audiobooks. Title: [German] - Wer beherrscht die Welt?
Please visit https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/1/audiobook/630333 to listen full audiobooks. Title: [German] - Putins Krieg - Wie die Menschen in der Ukraine für unsere Freiheit kämpfen (Ungekürzte Autorinnenlesung) Author: Katrin Eigendorf Narrator: Katrin Eigendorf Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 6 hours 41 minutes Release date: August 31, 2022 Genres: Current Affairs, Law, & Politics Publisher's Summary: Die bekannte ZDF-Korrespondentin Katrin Eigendorf berichtet seit vielen Jahren regelmäßig aus der Ukraine.

Segal Narrator: Kevin Kemp Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 10 hours 32 minutes Release date: August 9, 2022 Genres: Current Affairs, Law, & Politics Publisher's Summary: Graceful Simplicity: The Foundations of Bread and Roses Socialism is a new audiobook prepared with an eye on the 2024 Presidential elections. The author, Jerome Segal, is challenging Joe Biden for the nomination of the Democratic Party. The audiobook is primarily the first audio of Dr. Segal’s seminal 1999 book, Graceful Simplicity: The Philosophy and Politics of Simple Living. The original book made two main contributions to the literature on simple living. First, it argued that beauty and creative expression should be counted among our basic needs, and their fulfillment part of what simple living aspires to. Secondly, it argued that simple living should be thought of as more than a life-style choice. Rather, it should animate a new politics, one which places making the option of simple living relevant to people at all parts of the income spectrum, the central goal of socio-economic policy. Concretely, this means making it possible for people on a minimum wage to meet their core needs (including beauty) on 4 or even 3 days of Job System work per week. Starting when he first ran for public office in 2018, Dr. Segal went from writing about the need for a politics of simplicity to actually pursuing one. Over time he came to use the term “Bread and Roses socialism” to characterize his political program, and came to call himself, a bread and roses socialist. The new audiobook opens with a 25 page preface that explains the transition from “graceful simplicity” to “bread and roses socialism” as well as the conceptual linkage between the two concepts. Graceful Simplicity (1999) was a Book of the Month Club selection, and was translated into Danish and Chinese.

  • The Olive Branch from Palestine by Jerome M. Segal
Please visit https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/1/audiobook/627216 to listen full audiobooks. Title: The Olive Branch from Palestine Author: Jerome M. Segal Narrator: Matthew Lloyd Davis Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 12 hours 41 minutes Release date: August 3, 2022 Genres: Current Affairs, Law, & Politics Publisher's Summary: The Olive Branch from Palestine provides a new narrative of the Palestinian effort to end the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and offers a bold plan for ending this conflict today, a proposal that focuses on Palestinian agency and the power of the Palestinians to bring about the two-state solution, even in the absence of a fully committed Israeli partner. In part 1, Jerome Segal provides an analytical and historical study of the 1988 Palestinian Declaration of Independence, a remarkable act of unilateral peacemaking through which the PLO accepted the legitimacy of the 1947 Partition Resolution and thereby redefined Palestinian nationalism. In part 2, he proposes a new strategy in which, outside of negotiations, the Palestinians would advance, in full detail, the end-of-claims/end-of-conflict peace plan they are prepared to sign, one that powerfully addresses the Palestinian refugee question and is supported by the refugees themselves yet does not undermine Israel as a Jewish-majority state. • Tearing Us Apart: How Abortion Harms Everything and Solves Nothing by Ryan T. Anderson, Alexandra Desanctis

Anderson, Alexandra Desanctis Narrator: Cecily White Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 8 hours 15 minutes Release date: July 1, 2022 Genres: Current Affairs, Law, & Politics Publisher's Summary: The political philosopher Ryan T. Anderson, bestselling author of When Harry Became Sally: Responding to the Transgender Moment, teams up with the pro-life journalist Alexandra DeSanctis to expose the catastrophic failure—social, political, legal, and personal—of legalized abortion. Hope in the Ruins of Roe With the Supreme Court poised to return abortion law to the democratic process, a powerful new book reframes the coming debate: Our fifty-year experiment with unlimited abortion has harmed everyone—even its most passionate proponents. Women, men, families, the law, politics, medicine, the media—and, of course, children (born and unborn)—have all been brutalized by the culture of death fostered by Roe v. Wade. Abortion hollows out marriage and the family. It undermines the rule of law and corrupts our political system. It turns healers into executioners and “women’s health” into a euphemism for extermination. Ryan T. Anderson, a compelling and reasoned voice in our most contentious cultural debates, and the pro-life journalist Alexandra DeSanctis expose the false promises of the abortion movement and explain why it has made everything worse. Five decades after Roe, everyone has an opinion about abortion. But after reading Tearing Us Apart, no one will think about it in the same way.

  • Let My People Know: The Incredible Story of Middle East Peace―and What Lies Ahead by Aryeh Lightstone
Please visit https://thebookvoice.com/podcasts/1/audiobook/627177 to listen full audiobooks. Title: Let My People Know: The Incredible Story of Middle East Peace―and What Lies Ahead Author: Aryeh Lightstone Narrator: Benjamin Isaac Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 8 hours 33 minutes Release date: June 28, 2022 Genres: Current Affairs, Law, & Politics Publisher's Summary: The Trump administration’s “Peace to Prosperity” vision for the Middle East was unveiled on January 28, 2020. What followed over the next eleven months was one of the most fascinating and consequential periods of US foreign policy in a generation, leading to five normalization agreements between Israel and Muslim states. The Abraham Accords achieved what had seemed impossible for decades and set the Middle East on a trajectory toward a broad regional peace. Aryeh Lightstone is uniquely positioned to tell the story. As the senior advisor to the US ambassador to Israel, he had a front-row seat on events that dramatically altered the dynamics of the Middle East. He was tasked with a complex and sensitive component of the Abraham Accords: turning them into practical action, and doing it quickly—during a pandemic, no less. In addition, he directed the Abraham Fund, led the Abraham Accords Business Summit, and served as the key contact between Israel and the other Accords nations for implementation. Let My People Know provides a behind-the-scenes account of the strategies that allowed the “Deal of the Century” to be struck, and an unvarnished look at the Middle Eastern idiosyncrasies that factored into the process. A rabbi and an enthralling storyteller, Lightstone paints a vivid picture of the varied cultures and personalities involved. He also offers a glimpse into the day-to-day activities of an embassy. Finally, he explains what the Biden administration must do better to advance America’s interests abroad. We now have a paradigm for a forward-looking Middle East policy that ultimately benefits the United States. Lightstone makes the case for strategic action to maintain the momentum.

Title: Putin’s Trolls: On the Frontlines of Russia’s Information War against the World Author: Jessikka Aro Narrator: Jessikka Aro Format: Unabridged Audiobook Length: 12 hours 13 minutes Release date: June 28, 2022 Genres: Current Affairs, Law, & Politics Publisher's Summary: A chilling account of Russian information warfare, Putin’s Trolls exposes the individuals and organizations behind the Kremlin’s coordinated, military-style social media operations against the West. In this courageous and unflinching book, award-winning journalist Jessikka Aro interweaves her own dramatic story as a target of Russian social media propaganda with accounts from many internationally known critics of the Kremlin, who share their own stories of being targeted by Russia’s multifaceted cyber warfare campaigns. As Aro began to investigate the impact of the Kremlin’s troll operations outside of Russia, she learned that private citizens in many other countries were being victimized by Kremlin-designed information campaigns. These actions were frequently conducted through an organized “troll factory” led by Russia’s security and intelligence apparatus, using unregulated social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter. Many of the disinformation campaigns were centered around the 2014 Russian invasion of Ukraine and subsequent occupation of the Crimean Peninsula.
