Get Your Binge On

For the first time ever I'm featuring a documentary on the podcast! What better way to debut this trend by featuring the new Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan. My wonderful friends Hope Seabrook and Carley Fleming joined me to discuss this series! We all were texting each other with thoughts on the documentary and I said "Join me for the podcast!". It just made sense. This documentary explores the span of their relationship, from the early days of the couple's courtship to the challenges and controversies that prompted them to step back from the royal family. This documentary was insightful and honest. We discussed all the parts we loved and a few cringe moments of well- of course! We hope you enjoy!

Welcome back to Get Your Binge On! This is the first ever episode that features two shows from Netflix! I am so very excited to bring you two very different series- both with wonderful qualities that make them excellent bingeable shows. 1899 is a long awaited series from the powerful creative team of Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese. They created the series Dark, which is one of my all-time favorite Netflix series, and have returned with this new captivating story. 1899 centers around multinational immigrants traveling from the old continent to the new who encounter a nightmarish riddle aboard a second ship adrift on the open sea.

Dead to Me is a Netflix on its third and final season, and man did it go out with a bang! Starring the stellar duo Christina Applegate and Linda Cardellini, this series is bound to make you laugh and cry all in one sitting. I love this series so much and knew I needed to discuss season three on the podcast! I hope you enjoy having two shows in one episode- if you do please leave me a rating below!

We absolutely love this series and had to dish out all our favorite moments from this show. When I tell you this series makes me literally laugh out loud - I'm completely series. Just to refresh this series is premieres on FX then moves to Hulu. It's a look into the daily(or rather nightly) lives of four vampires who've lived together on Staten Island for over a century. The talent of the actors in this series is phenomenal. We also are a big fan of the writing from Jemaine Clement, Taika Waititi, and Sarah Naftalis. We hope you love our lighthearted discussion, and please be advised there are a few Nandor, Nadja, and Colin impersonations. Enjoy!

This episode is ALL about The Summer I Turned Pretty!! I've been excited to do this spoiler episode and absolutely had to feature my friend Lami, from the Crossing Stars Podcast, in this episode. We bonded over how much we loved and connected to this series. The Summer I Turned Pretty was first a book written by Jenny Han, and then adapted into a TV series for Amazon Prime Video. The plot follows Belly, and the love triangle she creates with Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher. It's a story about first love, first heartbreak, and the magic of that one perfect summer. I found many connections to my younger self in this film- it takes you back to your teenage years and really helps you connect with these characters. I hope you love this spoiler episode and enjoy Lami and I's discussion! Enjoy!

What We Do in the Shadows shows a look into the daily(or rather nightly) lives of four vampires, who've lived together for over 100 years, on Staten Island. This show is the perfect mixture of comedy, fantasy, and the horror of vampire life. It makes me laugh out loud, which is typically difficult to do! My friend, and boss babe, Hannah Mills-Ernest, joined me for this hilarious discussion. She owns Miss Daisy's Boutique which specializes in natural soy candles, body care products, and pet care products. We enjoyed every second of this deep dive into season one. By the end of this episode you may ask yourself what Hannah from Miss Daisy's does in the shadows!!!??

In this episode I'm discussing the new series on Amazon Prime Video that was written and created by author Jenny Han, The Summer I Turned Pretty. According to Imdb the plot is a love triangle between one girl and two brothers. A story about first love, first heartbreak, and the magic of that one perfect summer. This series was a breath of fresh air, and one that really puts you in your feels. Whether you are recalling your first love, or reminiscing on your latest late night hang out with your best friend- this show may connect with you. Sure, it may seem a little "tween" or corny at times, but this show absolutely stole my heart. If you've seen To All the Boys I've Loved Before on Netflix- this is the same writer! I hope you enjoy this info episode all about The Summer I Turned Pretty!

This week I have two very special guests from The Honestly Unfiltered podcast, Jeni and Ellie, on with me to discuss the riveting series Dopesick. This show is inspired by the true story of how America got hooked on a lie. We are dropped in the epicenter of America's struggle with the opioid addiction. We discussed what parts from the show were tough to watch, how addiction has influenced our lives and our families, and overall what the show meant to us. This discussion was one of my favorites I've done on the podcast so far, and I hope you all will enjoy! Dopesick recently was nominated for 14 Emmy awards, and Michael Keaton won a Golden Globe for his role as Dr. Finnix. Enjoy this amazing episode on Dopesick!
