Get Your Film Fix

Ridley Scott's Gladiator was one of 2000's most successful and awarded films, leaving the Oscars with Best Picture and Best Actor.  But how has Maximus aged in the last 20 years?  Lee, Jeremy and Chapin discuss the film's relevance today, Russell Crowe's storied career (three best actor nominations in a row) and director Ridley Scott.

Nerd alert!  This week, Chapin is joined by special guest Kevin Glenn to break down all 11 theatrical Star Wars films in (dis)honor of the release of The Rise of Skywalker.  Hold on to your lightsabers kids, this is one dives deep into the Sarlacc and comes out with takes as hot as the lava on Mustafar! Or the sands on Tatooine!  Or Jakku?  Or...Jedha?

Our old segment "just F-ing watch it" returns! This week we go back to 1959's Rio Bravo directed by Howard Hawks starring the Duke himself, John Wayne.  Then we count down the worst movie moments of 2019 (36:00).

Can three grown men like a film called Little Women?! Of course they can!  But do they loooove it??  Find out!  We break down Greta Gerwig's adaptation of Louisa May Alcott's novel first published in 1868.  But is the subject matter still relevant?  Is Gerwig cut out for the job, with only 2017's Ladybird under her belt?

Finally, we break down arguably the greatest living actress' Top 5 best performances!

We're doing this podcast in one take!  This week we went all the way back to 1917 directed by Sam Mendes to get a message to our listeners.  Turns out, we're like England and Germany...divided!  We talk a little more in depth about Sam Mendes and his eclectic career, then finally finish it off with a discussion of yesterday's Oscar nominations.
