  • Beers with Get Your Film Fix Ep. 8

Either we had too much to drink to be able to operate Skype or it was simply some technical difficulties, but we have a very shortened version of a Beers podcast this week. Steve Parkhurst’s, a writer for Get Your Film Fix, joins Lee and Brantley to discuss the new to DVD indie, Terri, Steve’s Dad’s job and the economy in Maine and a little Oscar discussion which includes Meryl Streep. Enjoy.

  • Episode 56 (The Ides of March)

Michael predicted some time ago that The Ides of March would be a serious Oscar contender in 2011. We’ll find out today if he is right as he joins Lee and Brantley on the podcast to discuss George Clooney’s film.  Then they try to understand why even people who aren’t interested in politics can enjoy a politically themed movie. Then, guess what… it’s the top 5 political films.

  • Episode 55 (50/50)

Sorry for the delay everyone. I’d say the chances of letting Chapin Hemmingway editing the podcast again are 50/50 considering this took him so long. Either way, he, Lee and Peter Mark all discuss the new film starring Joseph Gordon Levitt and Seth Rogen. Then they move onto discussing comedy within dramatic films. They top everything off with the top 5 illness themed films.

  • Episode 54 (Moneyball)

The boys of summer (and well…every season) are back as Brantley, Jeremy, and Lee all reunite to discuss Bennett Miller’s Moneyball based on the book by Michael Lewis. It’s rather serendipitous since all three of us worked on the film when it shot in Boston at Fenway. The guys also discuss Drive which they missed last week and wrap everything up with their Top 5 Sports Scenes in Movies (not sports movies keep in mind). Enjoy!!

  • Episode 53 (Drive)

Chapin Hemmingway and Tyson Balcomb from the Exterior Films Podcast are the designated drivers on this week’s podcast as they join Peter Mark and discuss the new film in theaters, Drive, directed by Nicolas Winding Refn. They also delve in the long put off Just F’ing Watch It segment on Refn’s previous film Vahalla Rising.  After dissecting the plots and performances of the two films, a discussion the violence in Refn’s films was the only thing left. That is, other than the top 5 chase scenes in film history.
