A Book's Suicide

The main thing going for this book is the premise. It's a good one but then it all goes to hell when we get past the first third of the book. Character motivation is confusing. The main character herself isn't sympathetic. Behaviors are inconsistent which leads to disbelief in the characters. I just couldn't buy into it all. Maybe the story is possible but the author failed to create a scenario that was plausible. Narration was ok but nothing would save this book's suicide.

Great story line and love story!

Wish she wouldn't have married Bobby, when she was so in love with Brooks! I hated how much she pushed Brooks away too, that got irritating

I don't know where Tawny gets her inspiration for men but whew.. Those Seals she has written in her books could rescue me any day.

The narrator was so bad that I am not sure if it was just her, or if the book was really just that bad. The story was hard to follow,had no real depth, and seemed to be written by a 10 year old.

Amazing

I read this book first and I didn't think I would get as emotional as I did reading it. WRONG! I was much more emotional. Kristin James did an awesome job with the emotions in her voice! This is one of my favorite books and now it's one of my favorite Audiobooks. Wow! Listening to this was great since when reading sometimes I would miss something but it seems I got a lot more listening to this. Thank you Marisa for making this into an audiobook. I really loved it and Kristin...BRAVO for making me fall in love all over again but in a new way!!!

Surprising 4 Stars

I had a hard time with this one in the beginning. I wasn't a fan of the narrator but she grows on you.

I felt the story was a little slow but wow does it pay to keep listening.

Grace what to say about this amazingly strong, willful character. She has a lot going on that she doesn't let get her down. It feels to me like its her big brother and her that take on the role of taking care of their younger sister.

In walks Ian this hot bad boy. He has demons he is fighting as well. Only his demons live in his house. He feels guilty for wanting out when he has younger siblings that need his help too.

Needless to say these two find each other and have this connection of heat and understanding.

Things go down to the point where Grace and Ian need to leave so they make their way to California.

Where there struggle really begins, I was very surprised at what happens and how it all comes to pass. I wanted to yell and beg and throw my headphones off at some parts. But I kept on keeping on. And wow you really don't see some of that coming.

It takes an even bigger turn then I was expecting.

Then poof its over and your left with, a what the heck!!! So yeah great story not so great narrator but she does grew on you.

I love this story.

I originally read this book, and loved every part of it. When I heard it was on audio, I knew I needed to listen to it.

This is the first book narrated by Kristin James for me. While some of her voices are not what I imagined, her overall performance was very good.

Marisa's book came to life in this audio version. It helped make it more realistic. I could close my eyes and picture everything. I would recommend this book to others. The story will make you laugh, cry, and be full of so many emotions. I can't wait to hear the next book.

Brilliant New Trilogy

Tori is an artist who has been in business, with a traditional brick & mortar shop, for just over year. She has an optimistic attitude, but things are not going well for the shop, that means things were not going well for Tori (financially.)

When her mother pops in one day with the announcement that she is getting married, Tori's whole life is in inner turmoil. Her mother is going to marry the father of the man Tori had always love!

Before the wedding culminates, Jed (not the love of her life but the brother of Gabe the love of her life) comes into town. He is aware of Tori's feelings for his brother, but just had always had eyes for Tori. A feeling that she did not reciprocate because of his brother.

When Tori is drafted into becoming the wedding planner, for the upcoming ceremony, along with the stress of her shop, Tori does not know what she will do.

Jed steps in to help her out and while she feels she is somehow reneging on her mother and the promise that Tori made about planning the wedding. She is still overwhelmed and eventually accept his help.

This is an excellent book by Amy Gamet. There are only three books in the entire series.

Just okay

This story wasn't bad. I just wish the lead female wasn't portrayed as being stubborn and weak. She kept telling herself nothing could good could happen and fought most of the book. She was annoying at times.

Excellent read

Ms. Aicher does it again! I love her Bonds of books and didn't know what to expect from this one. I was pleasantly surprised. The story is well developed and I fell in love with the characters. I especially love the feisty Samantha!

New Series From Lynda Aicher-I Was Excited 2 Start

Samantha has gone as far she can in her career as a female hockey player. Now what? She is still the hometown hero and living under her father's coaching shadow. She is completely lost and frustrated that there is no professional hockey for woman.

Dylan plays professional hockey for the Minnesota Glaciers. One day the two of them meet at a local rink. The rink is hosting 'open ice' time for kids. After some playful trash talk Samantha challenges Dylan. The bet is for a beer which turns into a 'one night' stand.

I'm not sure how, but Samantha becomes a personal trainer for Dylan. She is helping him in his hockey life. This is really unrealistic, in my opinion. However I went along with it for the sake of the story.

This was not a typical Lynda Aicher book that I am used to listening. I'm more familiar with her "Wicked Play" [aka "Bonds Of"] series which is extremely, extremely graphic with mature themes. This series is very tame compared to it. There's still enough spice to keep you from recommending it to your conservative friends, but not nearly as much as her other series.

Although I found this book a little bit on the boring side, I will probably continue the series. It is good, but did not knock my socks off as Aicher's other series.

Cooper North is a good narrator. He gives a solid performance. His performance of the female characters is impressive. It drives me crazy when a male author performs a female lead by simply speaking in a squeaky tone and adding a lisp. Cooper's performance contained none of that.

Didn't want it to end

This story hit home on many levels. I felt like I was in reliving portions of my early life in New York. Believable with great descriptions to make you feel like you were right there with them. A well narrated story that holds your interest by the captivating Jennifer Grace. This was a magical romance and I enjoyed it from start to finish.

A Good Clean Read

Most romance novels follow a very predictable formula. You know from page one who the romantic couple will be, due to the fact that they can't stand each other. But this one was different, and in a very good way! The person of interest doesn't show up right away, for one thing. And for another, the conflict required (or face it, you don't have a plot), is more plausible than most. I've read several books by this author, and have never been disappointed! The narrator did a very good job too! Enjor!

Not a book about faith in God

Melody Carlson usually writes books where her characters are believers or become Christians during the story. Not so with this book. It was a pretty straight forward romance but i still enjoyed it for its chill factor. It was nice to listen to 2 young people falling in love in New York. In my opinion, it would have been better if there had been some faith- based character development.

A weak attempt on a good story.

A HEA story that has some weak plot points and characters you can come to like. This book has some typos and should have gone through another round of edits to become a much better book. The wrap up of the story or case as it were is well done but the journey there was arduous. I would probably try something else from this author.

OMG! I'm not even sure that is sufficient to even begin to express my wonder with this book! If you want hot, steamy, full of suspense and action (both carnal and otherwise) this book has pretty much all of it and then some. Katrina has been taken advantage of and deserted by all of the men she's ever had in her life, and she's about to find out that her current boyfriend is no different. Imagine her angst when she finds out that her co-worker of five years, and boyfriend and lover for the past six months, has been using her and that he is married. But before she discovers all of this, he dares her to pick up a stranger and invite him to come play with them. Little did she know, that the stranger will be the one to help her pick up the pieces as her world comes tumbling down around her.
