Perserverence by many names.

Never said the word perseverance but all the themes where good and motivational. Good energy and made me laugh.

Missing the Point a Bit

This is a fine translation that is consistent with many other translations I have read, however after each chapter there is a discussion that, in many cases, breaks down the content line by line. I felt the discussion was not very insightful (in one case using a cardboard box as an example of something that is neither dead nor alive - true, I suppose, but not a particularly compelling analogy), and contrary to statements in the Tao Te Ching itself which say that talking too much about the Tao causes one to lose the way.

Would not recommend - I'm sure there are better offerings available.

Just What I Needed

I'm not really one to want to become an entrepreneur but she motivate me to at least look into it some more and see it may in fact be my future goal. The stories could have been better though because the examples and the story is already all about the benefits of being and entrepreneurs, I wish there were more stories of how they got started on their journeys and not just the success they accomplished.

A Must Hear (or a MUST LISTEN TO)

What made the experience of listening to The Fear Factory the most enjoyable?

This is the 2nd book by Richard Fenton and Andrea Waltz I've purchased within the past 30 days, I believe, and it's worth EVERY penny!I can't wait for my teenage daughter to come home from boarding school and immerse her in this material!

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Fear Factory?

When we learn that we are all born with only THREE "Factory-Installed" fears - Fear of loud noises, fear of falling and fear of abandonment (I think).ALL other fears are acquired i.e. PURCHASED!

Which scene was your favorite?

Paradoxically learning the purpose of life and living from the head Fear Master himself!

The book provides good suggestion about how to live with fear. Turn us back from the dark side of the force. (Sounds like a Jedi)

Disappointed listener

I loved the Go For No book and read it a few times. When I got The Fear Factory book I was hoping it would be just as great but it wasn't.

I don't even know the main message they were trying to get across because the story was kind of silly. I would listen to it again to figure it out but I can't waste 2 more hours of my life.

enjoyable listen

I enjoy the authors writings and ability to deliver spot on paradigm shifts. His message is about facing fears and healthy mindsets to negotiate them. Could've had a couple chapters shortened and combined, but perfect isn't the mark anymore right? Will come back to this again.

Teachings for Embodied Awakening

What made the experience of listening to The Self in Full Bloom the most enjoyable?

Mukti is a spiritual teacher who has a well-rounded background of vital learning tools which include yoga, acupuncture, and Chinese medicine where she learned the yin-yang metaphor for life. She illustrates the masculine and feminine, the give and take, yin-yang of awakening, which really benefited me.

My early childhood experiences included bullying and beatings to elicit my obedience. Until I was able to break free of some of those dysfunctional patterns (like leaving the family religion) many of my lifes endeavors were harsh and demanding. In my search for healing, I engaged some practitioners of energetic healing modalities. Some of them helped but others brought the very opposite results. Mukti gently and lovingly encouraged and soothed me to relax into my body. As teacher, she used vital tools which included knowledge of how to move me out of the active mind and into accessing my heart and my lower belly on the journey to awakening. By degrees, she explained the two-step practice of meditation and self-inquiry which actually complement each other during the process of self-discovery. Meditation became much easier for me once I got past the unhelpful pattern of working hard to stop thought, and instead, offering the mind freedom to explore where the mind figured it needed to be. She used valuable illustrations such as comparing the over-stimulated mind to a horse stuffed into a tiny stall by force. Instead, she suggests setting the horse free into a spacious pasture to let it do whatever it needed during meditation. Surprisingly, such freedom enabled a naturally calming environment within the self, which I found soothing and yet at the same time, vitalizing again, her yin-yang training became evident.

Lynda Hudson's approach was simple and good but lacks follow through. I like her for voice the best, really helps you relax. The use of breathing to release anger and bring in calm is also good but I don't feel like the concept was fully developed and given enough time for reprogramming of the mind to truly take place.
