Since childhood, our friend Sasha Papudin has been visiting Greece and exploring the European continent. Sasha Papudin is the frontman of 1955, a kickass rock band from Sonoma, California. Smack dab in the middle of Northern California wine and agricultural paradise. We were introduced to Sasha by our good friend and Episode 2 guest. These guys go way back to the San Sebastian days.

We arrived at the Pinocchio Furniture wood shop on a Saturday evening a few minutes early and drank a couple beers in the parking lot. Sasha arrived and we met for the first time ever. He is a super warm, friendly, and engaging person to speak with. Sasha gave me a quick tour of the shop, then welcomed me into the in-house music recording studio. Yep. Inside the shop, there is a music studio full of instruments and good vibes.

We just started talking. Getting to know each other. Getting to talk about transformative travel experiences. He has been inspired by travel and experiencing new cultures since he was a child. We talk a lot about what it's like to explore Greece by car and boat. We also discuss random topics around travel and mischief. Enjoy the magic!

We reconnected in an airplane terminal after 10 years. Listen to our well-traveled and remarkable guest share her travels abroad. This episode is packed with travel magic. Our guest also taught English in Italy for an entire year. She dives deep into the amazing tastes and what it's like driving from north to south in Italy. Following cultural music and dance festivals.

Our amazing friends tell us about their experience traveling to a lodge deep in Denali National Park, Alaska. This trip was filled with all the epic natural beauty you have imagined about Alaska. Abundant wildlife, Alaskan culture, and the journey onto the windy backroads. This is a fun ep with lots of laughter.

On their return flight, our guests had a 3-hour layover in Seattle. Given the choice to slowly rot in an airport terminal, or go for a whirlwind layover excursion - they chose to see Seattle in 3 hours. We love this story!

Our buddy Chris has been to Vietnam to help remove unexploded bombs left over from the Vietnam War. Which ended 40 years ago. Farmers plowing their fields or children attracted to shiny metal often become victims to the leftover remnants of war.

Chris attended American University and went to Vietnam with the Project RENEW bomb disposal team in Quang Tri Province, Vietnam. The project at American University is called Ghosts of War: Post-Conflict Recovery in Vietnam. They partner with a non-profit spearheading the work called Project RENEW. Project RENEW'S work inspired Michael Sullivan of NPR and All Things Considered to cover this story. Here is a link to the NPR Article from 2016, titled Teaching Kids In Vietnam To Avoid A Deadly Everyday Legacy Of War.

Chris also talks about his travels to Haiti as a volunteer.

Ambitious long-distance hikers embark every season to hike the Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) which is a 2,650 mile American long trail. It’s part of the Triple Crown and takes you from the Mexican Border in California all the way to the Canadian Border in Mexico. We talk with our friend and artist Lexi Snyder about her experience hiking the PCT. We have an incredibly fun and positive interview about what it’s like to travel 2,000 mile on foot and see the world at 3mph. We also talk a little about San Luis Obispo, trail culture, trail food, and psychedelics on trail. Lexi is leaving California soon to start her year-long work visa in New Zealand. We will catch up with her soon.
