In this episode of Beginner's Mind, I am joined by Laura Goldstein, a LCMFT in private practice in Rockville, MD. Laura is sharing with us an experience she had as a therapist in training where her supervisor gave her some feedback on the affect she had in session. Laura shares how the affect she was feeling in that session was rooted in her own process as a therapist in training rather than the client's experience and what they were sharing with her. We talk about making mistakes as a therapist and how Laura's transparency with clients about her own imperfection allows her clients to be more vulnerable in session.
