What other book might you compare Clockwork Prince to and why?
Cassandra Clares other series, the immortal instruments.
Which character as performed by Ed Westwick and Heather Lind was your favorite?
Got to love Tessa
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Friendship, loyalty and tradition tested beyond reason.
Love is messy.
Would you consider the audio edition of Clockwork Prince to be better than the print version?
I still prefer the print version of books, but Clockwork Prince was well narrated and enhances the reading of the print version.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Warlocks, demons, curses, angels and automatons and oh yeah, a love triangle and demon pox.
Any additional comments?
Demon Pox
Female narrator not good.
Where does Clockwork Prince rank among all the audiobooks youve listened to so far?
Story is good. But you can lose the thread of it when the female narrator is in charge.
How did the narrator detract from the book?
The female narrator ruined the book for me. Her voice for the pure narration is fine but her interpretation of "posh" English accents was incredibly distracting and annoying. I only struggled through to the end because it is the second story in a trilogy and I checked that the narrator was different in the final book. Ed Westwick was excellent but sadly there was not enough of him.
Infernal Devices Book 3
I have really enjoyed all of the Cassandra Clare Books, starting with City of Bones several years ago. I have however much preferred the Infernal Devices series to the Mortal Instruments one. Somehow the characters seem more believable and well rounded, whether its because Ms Clares writing has become more mature over time or whether the characters themselves are more mature in this series, being set in the region of a century or so before Mortal Instruments, and there is a lot less of the modern teen angst I'm not sure, but the characters deal well with their love triangle and the story is beautifully told; I shed a tear at several points during the story. I have only 'read' this book in its audio format, and I was extremely impressed with the narrators of the last two books in the series, especially Ed Westwick who really brought out the emotion in the story. I just wish that these two narrators had read the first book in this series, the only one of the three that I have physically sat down to read in paper format, was spoiled for me by poor narration by Jennifer Ehle. I had expected much better of her narration skills after her performance of Elizabeth Bennet! However, this was a fantastic end to the trilogy and I was really sorry to say goodbye to a group of characters that I felt really close to and fond of.
