Listen Later

Charlie is joined by Kim Harkness, Senior Director of Marketing, Communications & Community Outreach at Broad River.

Kim shares a story about her interview at the River, how she helped expand and level up the marketing department, and how she grew with her role. Kim talks about how her team remained connected during remote work, and what processes they implemented to continue to foster growth and cohesiveness. She also discusses her role in grand opening 16 stores and two distribution centers.

Charlie and Kim recount their experience of the Annual Leadership Summit with Inky Johnson (video links below) and how this event turned into Purpose 8:28 the following year. They reveal the stories behind the words of the year, the stores' identities, and the departmental identities as well. Kim explains the River's involvement with Beds for Kids (https://bedsforkids.org/), and A Hope to Dream (https://www.ahopetodream.com), as well as the organization's partnership with St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (https://www.stjude.org).
