Getting To The Other Side of Sadness
Sitting with our sadness takes the courage to believe that we can bear the pain and we will come out the other side.
As we approach the Holiday season, I have been reflecting on the last six months and thinking about all the families and friends that I know who have been affected by illnesses and the loss of loved ones. We may find it harder this year as we approach the Holidays to find joy or find ourselves sitting in our sadness trying to figure out how we will come out on the other side of our grief.
When my oldest son died and then 7 years later my husband died, I believed I was the only one who could understand what I was going through and no one could help me. When I finally found the courage to reach out it was the best thing I did for myself and for my youngest son.
I am asking all of you to please remember that you do not have to go through any of this alone. There is always someone to reach out to that would be more than willing to listen, all it takes is a little courage to reach out if you need any help dealing with sadness. I’ll be happy to leave my email address for anyone who wants to reach out and we can coordinate a time to talk if you need someone to talk to. (contact@WandaNordlie.com)
