Trust and Forgiveness
If we can remember that our response to others is important, we can realize that trust and forgiveness can go hand in hand.
In life, there will always be times when we are affected by the actions of another person. When this happens, we often receive an apology. More often than not we say, "It's alright," or " It's okay," and by saying this we are allowing, accepting, and giving permission for the behavior to happen again. When we say "thank you," or "I accept your apology," we are forced to sit in our feelings rather than ignore them.

With this new year comes a renewed energy and sense of hope! The past year has been difficult for many of us, but January marks a fresh start and the chance to reset ourselves. With Our Own Self
The most important relationship we will ever have in our life is with our own self.
Even though we are the only ones who are present at every moment of our lives, from birth onward this relationship can be the most difficult one to cultivate. This may be because society places such emphasis on the importance of being in a romantic partnership, even teaching us to set aside our own needs for the needs of another. Until we know ourselves, however, we cannot possibly choose the right relationship to support our mutual growth toward our highest potential.

Finding Your Next Phase In Life
It is when you are willing to listen to yourself and be fearless, that figuring out your phase becomes easy.
Our lives are made up of a complex network of pathways that we can use to move from one phase of life to the next. For some of us, our paths are wide, smooth, and clearly marked. Many people, however, find that they have a difficult time figuring out where they need to go next. Determining which "phase" will land you on the most direct route to fulfillment and the realization of your life purpose may not seem easy.

Let Go Of Perfection
Life becomes much more interesting once we let go of our quest for perfection and aspire for imperfection instead.
It is good to remember that one of our goals in life is to not be perfect. We often lose track of this objective. When we make mistakes, we think that we are failing or not measuring up. But if life is about experimenting, experiencing, and learning, then to be imperfect is a prerequisite. Life becomes much more interesting once we let go of our quest for perfection and aspire for imperfection instead.

Acknowledging Your Self-Worth
Your worth is not a product of your intelligence, your talent, your looks, or how much you have accomplished.
Though much of who and what we are changes as we journey through life, our inherent worth remains constant. While the term self-worth is often used interchangeably with self-esteem, the two qualities are inherently different. Self-esteem is the measure of how you feel about yourself at a given moment in time. Your worth, however, is not a product of your intelligence, your talent, your looks, your good works, or how much you have accomplished. Rather it is an immeasurable and unchanging manifestation of your eternal and infinite oneness with the world.

Dwelling In Guilt
Dwelling in guilt is like living your life with an anchor tied to your ankles, dragging you down.
Learning to accept the things that we perceive as wrong can be a difficult task for many of us. Often, we have been brought up to accept that it is normal to feel guilty about our actions and that by doing so we will make everything seem alright within ourselves. Even though we might feel that we have a reason to make up for the choices we have made, it is much more important for us to learn how to deal with them in a healthy and positive way, such as through forgiveness and understanding.

Where There is Darkness, There is Light
Anyone who has walked through despair and came out on the other side knows that even in that darkness, seeds of light can be found.
Branches often reach out of the gloom and into the daylight alongside the drifter who emerges from that deep sorrow. When we find ourselves in a place of despair, it can help us to know this, so that we don't give up. We can stop, take a deep breath, and remind ourselves that we will find ourselves on the other side of this troubled time and that we may even emerge with something new to offer.

Getting To The Other Side of Sadness
Sitting with our sadness takes the courage to believe that we can bear the pain and we will come out the other side.
As we approach the Holiday season, I have been reflecting on the last six months and thinking about all the families and friends that I know who have been affected by illnesses and the loss of loved ones. We may find it harder this year as we approach the Holidays to find joy or find ourselves sitting in our sadness trying to figure out how we will come out on the other side of our grief.
When my oldest son died and then 7 years later my husband died, I believed I was the only one who could understand what I was going through and no one could help me. When I finally found the courage to reach out it was the best thing I did for myself and for my youngest son.
I am asking all of you to please remember that you do not have to go through any of this alone. There is always someone to reach out to that would be more than willing to listen, all it takes is a little courage to reach out if you need any help dealing with sadness. I’ll be happy to leave my email address for anyone who wants to reach out and we can coordinate a time to talk if you need someone to talk to. ([email protected])

Capacity to Change
Your thoughts and actions are like stones dropped into still waters causing ripples to spread as they move outward.
In a world with billions of people, it's easy to believe that the only way to initiate profound transformation is to take extreme action. Each of us, however, carries within us the capacity to change the world in small ways for better or worse. Everything we do and think affects the people in our lives, and their reactions in turn affect others.
