Mark 6:6-13

As Jesus sends His people out He warns us against the dependencies of money, possessions, and comfort. While all of those things are necessary parts of life, we as His people must be on guard against them becoming distractions.

Mark 1:9-13

Scripture shows us that we rely on two things: the empowering of God's Spirit and the perfect obedience of Christ. With those two truths, we are equipped to live Gospel worthy lives that faithfully work out our salvation.

Mark 6:45-52

Sometimes it feels like God is distant and not present with us in difficulties. Yet, the Gospel affirms that God is an ever-present help in time of need.

Mark 10:46-52

We're all seeking something. When it comes to Jesus, we have to ask what we're seeking from Him. Are we looking for Him to validate our own self-righteousness? Or fulfill our own ambitions? Blind Bartimaeus asked wisely when he sought mercy so that he could see. In much the same way, we too need to be cured of our spiritual blindness so we can see our need for Jesus.

Mark 7:1-13

Jesus condemned the Jewish religious leaders for valuing their traditions and teachings over the Word of God. Sometimes, we're tempted to value other voices, viewpoints, and teachings over the Gospel too. How do we need to be challenged to keep the Gospel as the highest priority in our minds?

Mark 5:21-43

Jesus reached out and touched the untouchable. His touch restored those who were broken. We all have issues. Some of us feel like those issues and brokenness make us "untouchable" and so we hide them. The Gospel reminds us that Jesus wants to restore all things, even the messiest parts of our lives.

Mark 4:1-20

Jesus teaches that we all must respond to the Truth. Sometimes, things get in the way and hinder us from responding the right way. How do we need to be challenged to respond?

Mark 8:34-38

We can all be fooled into thinking that being around Christianity is good enough to make one a disciple. But it's not proximity to Jesus that makes us His followers, but our participation in the Gospel transforms us. To do that, we all need to say "no" to the wrong things so we can say "yes" to Jesus and His way.
