Mujhe gham se mat mila magar

Mujhse gham tu mat chhupa magar

Izhaar e gham bhi zururi hai

Hai kuchh nahin siwa due magar.

Woh soz e dil jo jalta nahin

Jo jalta nahin woh sulagta nahin

Dil na roye to izhaar e gham kya

Ashkon se charag bujhta nahin.

Aansu dil pi jaata hai

Rona usey satata hai

Jahil hai jazbaati hai

Bas dhadakna usey aata hai.

Batao dil kya farmata

Kya us ka bhi koi daata  hai

Afstaane tere sun kar dost

Tujhe kya samjhaata hai.

Yeh gham ki hai jo daastaan

Karti hai sabko pareshan

Takta hai koi sitaron ko

Koi mahv e arz e aasmaan.

Peeri nahin to jawaani kya

Gham na ho to shaadmaani kya

Wujood khushi ka kya ho ‘sahil’

Bin gham us ki kahani kya.
