Ghost Stories, a Destiny Podcast

Episode 37: Êxotic-à-porter

What happens when you put three frabjous Hunters on a podcast to talk about Hunter Exotics? Oh, you're about to find out, oh listener mine. Suffice to say, on this tangent filled episode we're talking Hunter Exotic Body Armor, Boots, and Cloaks... oh man, THE CLOAKS. Damn, we're good looking. Ok ok, lets keep this point! (the point of our sweet knives). Join us as we dig up obscure references to raspberries, do some radiant Italian (blade) dancing, try to figure out who Eao was, take a look into Sherb's cloak closet, talk about all the things Radiant Dance Machine's can't do, and listen as drop descends into madness chasing his white whale, Alpha Lupi. INTELLECT.

We also have a special message from GabbleRatchet about his amazing time at Destiny Community Con.

Episode 36: Exotic Sandals Vacation

MOAR EXOTICS! We’re really jamming to get them all in before Rise of Iron, so we’re moving on to Armor. In what was originally supposed to be a single episode focusing on Warlock Exotics, we somehow managed to drag it out to a 2-parter. We were missing Gabble (our resident Warlock) for this episode, so we hope you like dropslash’s (part time Warlock) voice because you’re going to hear him say “uh” 15,000 times. We chat about creatively naming 3 different Exotics “Nemesis Light”, “Light Beyond”, and “Light Beyond Nemesis” (seriously), lava stones, [...]

Episode 35.5: Strength of the Pack

Well, we made it all the way here. The last of the Exotic Heavy Weapons gets a special show all it’s own. That’s right, this episode is all about Gjallarhorn. Per usual, we’re diving into the history of Gjallarhorn, both in the lore and among the Guardians who wield it, but on this show we also invited our listeners and members of the community to send us their stories. So join us as we tell some truly legendary tales of loss, love, engrams, pronunciation, strange coins, glory days, rage, revenge, regret, insane luck, and a whole lot more as we look back on the Exotic that made us gods of the Year 1 battlefield.

Huge thanks to everyone who sent us amazing stories for this episode!

Episode 35 (08/09/2016) - Exotic Particulars

We made it! It’s the final Exotic Weapons episode! We’re talking Swords and Rockets this time around… when we can actually stay on topic. We’re all a bit punchy from having a week off, so big thanks to Xray for keeping us in line while we tackle what is maybe the most contentious quest in the game, the best Sword in the game (Bolt-Caster, duh

Oh, and more listener stories, Twilight Gap, Banshee stealing more of our stuff, some very i [...]

Episode 32 (07/19/2016) - Exoticordinarily Nice It’s Exotic Weapons: Part 4! Are you sick of these yet? Too bad! This week’s show takes us into the Exotic armory to talk about Snipers, Fusion Rifles, and one very sexy Sidearm. We’re talking about some more weird Quests, missing logos, and enough lyric and spiritual references than should ever be in a single episode. The team was a bit punchy this week, so be ready for she [...]

Episode 31 (07/10/2016) - Exotic Blade Dancing

It’s Exotic Weapons: Part 3! We’re going to be taking a look at Exotic Specials this time around and diving into the Primary Care perk weapons (Universal Remote, No Land Beyond, Vex Mythoclast) and Shotguns. There’s quite a bit of lore buried in these weapons, so join us as we discuss Ikora Rey’s humble beginnings, gleeful Patch 1.1.1 memories, Master Rahool’s Uncut Gem Emporium, Amanda Holliday’s [...]

Episode 30 (06/30/2016) - Isn’t it Exotic? (Don’t You Think?)

This week we’re continuing our series delving into the history and lore of Exotic Weapons and Armor in Destiny. Picking up where we left off last week, join us as we dive deep on the most famous, and infamous, Scout Rifles and Hand Cannons in your arsenal. Yes, that says Hand Cannons. Along the way we’ll discover a few guns that you actually can’t get, talk about our first experiences with many of them, and wonder which Scou [...]

Episode 29 (06/26/2016) - All Our Exs Live In A Kiosk

This week we’re starting a whole new series with a look into the history and lore of Exotic Weapons and Armor in Destiny. In this first part of the series we’re covering Weapons, starting with Primaries, specifically Auto-rifles and Pulse Rifles. We’re going to cover every Exotic in the game (and even some that aren’t), so kick it off here with us as we discuss famous Roman generals, lightning hammers, bird skulls, sad Titans, bayonets, brute force algorithms, and a lot more.
