in this fellowship we began to take a number of scriptures predominately from the NT and widely used in many respects within the modern Church world to create and propitiate a doctrine of Spiritual Israel as essentially a replacement for Biblical Israel. One of the most essential bible study tools we have is the cross reference or chain reference as these reference link passages with the biblical record and is an essential element of study. If we are to read any work with understanding we would likewise finding ourselves thumbing back through the pages periodically to refresh our memory with the works main characters, their activities, their peculiar natures or history in the written work we are reading, to maintain continuity with our understanding of where exactly they fit in the story, and how that character(s) are
influencing or involved as the story continues to unfold. Why would we not want to do the same in our study of the Bible?
