Fresh from the ComCompendium annals we rediscover the indomitable Gina Yashere. An engineer in a previous life, and a comic tour de force in this one, Gina's boldness and clarity of mind saw her draft up a plan: simply selling up her life in the UK and moseying over to the ol' USA.
We examine Gina's annoyance at being the 'diversity' on panel shows, point the finger firmly in the direction of The Patriarchy, and discuss the myriad of pitfalls involved with plunging oneself headlong into starting afresh elsewhere.

Dai Henwood


 Brian Simpson is a stand-up comic hailing from Austin, TX, where this was in fact recorded as part of SXSW!
With a background as a foster child and Marine Corps veteran, Brian brings a rare blend of life experiences to his comedy, offering a refreshingly unique perspective. He's earned a spot on Variety's Top Comics to Watch in 2023 and you might recognise Brian from Comedy Central's Lights Out with David Spade, or his debut Netflix special, Brian Simpson: Live from the Mothership!
We discuss how ADHD affects Brian’s comedy, reflecting on mentor advice and learning to embrace discomfort along with the therapeutic value and healing potential of comedy.

Julia Masli is an award-winning clown from Estonia, now based in London.
Her latest show, “ha ha ha ha ha ha ha” was nominated for Edinburgh's top prize of Best Comedy Show and named number one comedy show of the year by the 'Guardian'. Having now completed a 4-week sold out run of shows at London's Soho Theatre, Julia will embark on a 4 week Off-Broadway transfer to save the USA at Soho Playhouse in New York.
