What happens when you finally stop forcing things to happen?
When you stop trying to make the relationship work, force the door open, control the outcome, or figure out every detail of what comes next?
What if that's the moment you finally start seeing what God has been doing all along?
In this episode of Girl, Date the Good Guy, Emily talks about the divine alignment she's experiencing in her own life after a season of healing, surrender, obedience, and waiting on God.
For so long, she thought she had to make things happen.
But God began showing her something different:
If you have to force it, you may be trying to carry something God never asked you to carry.
Emily shares the moment God highlighted the word FORCE for her and how that revelation has changed the way she looks at relationships, opportunities, timing, and the future.
This isn't about sitting around doing nothing.
It's about learning the difference between moving with God and trying to get ahead of Him.
And if you're sitting in heartbreak, coming out of a toxic relationship, recovering from a breakup, or wondering why your life isn't unfolding the way you thought it would...
I want you to hear this:
Your current season is not the end of your story.
You don't have to force the next chapter.
You don't have to chase what God has for you.
You don't have to have every detail figured out before you take the next step.
Sometimes faith looks like opening your hands and saying,
"God, You have the pen. I'll trust You with the story."
Because when you stop forcing it, something beautiful can happen.
You begin to see what God was already putting into place.
You begin to recognize His timing.
And sometimes...
you realize you weren't watching your life fall apart.
You were watching it come into alignment.

Fear can keep you stuck in places God is trying to pull you out of.
In this episode, Emily gets real about the role fear played in her own life—from living in a toxic relationship and being afraid of what would happen if she left, to finally surrendering her fear to God and taking the steps He was asking her to take.
Leaving didn't mean everything instantly became easy. There was uncertainty, financial pressure, anxiety, loss, and a whole lot of learning how to trust God one step at a time.
And even after getting out, Emily discovered that leaving the toxic situation was only the beginning. The trauma, fear, suspicion, control, and survival patterns still needed to be healed.
This is a conversation about what happens when fear follows you into your next season—and why God doesn't just want to change your circumstances. He wants to heal the places inside of you that were shaped by what you've survived.
If you're sitting in heartbreak, coming out of a toxic relationship, afraid to start over, or wondering what you're supposed to do next, this episode is for you.
You don't have to see the whole staircase.
You just have to trust God with the next step.
In this episode, we talk about:
If you're in immediate danger or preparing to leave an abusive relationship, please seek trusted support and make a safety plan. You don't have to do it alone.

What if the man you've been praying for doesn't look exactly like the man you pictured?
What if you've been asking God for a perfect man… when He may be teaching you how to recognize a good man?
Sis, this one is personal for me.
Because I was demanding a perfect man when God gave me a good man.
A man with a heart of gold.
And I had to let God deal with my expectations, my checklist, and my idea of what a man of God was supposed to look like.
In this episode of Girl, Date the Good Guy, we're talking about the lie of perfection in relationships—and what happens when you stop looking for a finished product and start paying attention to posture over perfection.
Because a good man doesn't have to have everything figured out.
He can still be learning.
He can still be growing.
He can still be becoming.
The question isn't whether he's perfect.
The question is:
What's his posture toward God?
Is he teachable?
Is he willing to grow?
Does he want to know Jesus more?
Does he take responsibility?
Is he moving toward Christ?
And here's the part we don't always want to hear…
You don't get to demand a finished man while you're still allowing God to work on you.
Maybe God isn't just using the relationship to grow him.
Maybe He's growing you, too.
In this episode, we're talking about:
Why perfection is an impossible standard
The difference between a good man and a perfect man
Why posture matters more than perfection
Why “unfinished” doesn't automatically mean “wrong”
How to recognize a man who is genuinely willing to grow
Why you shouldn't date potential—but also shouldn't reject someone simply because he's still growing
How God can use relationships to sharpen and grow us
What it looks like to surrender your checklist to God
Why we need to stop expecting relationships to make us happy and start asking how God may be using them to make us holy
And the very real possibility that the woman asking God for a perfect man may still have some growing of her own to do. 😂
And yes…
there may be a little coffee talk in this one. ☕😂
Because sometimes growth looks like realizing you don't need a perfect man.
You just need a good man with a heart that's turned toward God.
And personally?
I can't wait to make this man coffee every morning.
Black?
A little sugar?
Creamer?
Anything for you! 😂
Ask yourself:
Have I been rejecting imperfect people because I actually expect perfection?
Am I looking at someone's heart and direction, or am I looking at my checklist?
And one more:
Am I willing to let God work on me just as much as I'm asking Him to work on the person I'm praying for?

What if God is asking you to move… but you don't feel ready?
What if you're standing at the bottom of the staircase, asking God to turn on every light so you can see exactly where you're going?
Sis… that's not how faith works.
In this episode of Girl, Date the Good Guy, we're talking about what it really looks like to trust God when you don't have the whole plan.
We start with Psalm 37:4 and the desires of our hearts—and why delighting in God isn't about treating Him like a genie who gives us everything we want. When we fully surrender our lives to Christ and walk with Him, He begins transforming our hearts and aligning our desires with His.
And that's where faith comes in.
Because sometimes God doesn't give you the whole staircase.
He gives you the next step.
I'll share what I've been learning about having what I call “crazy faith”—including moments when God has asked me to move, release things, and prepare for what's next without knowing exactly how everything would come together.
We'll talk about:
And maybe the biggest question of all:
What if the thing you're afraid to step into is actually the place God is taking you?
You don't need to see the whole staircase.
You just need to trust the One who's leading you.
Psalm 37:4
Take some time this week and ask yourself:
What step have I been afraid to take because I don't know what happens after it?
Have I truly surrendered the outcome to God?
What is God asking me to do next?
Not step seven.
Not the whole staircase.
Just the next step.

What if letting go isn’t giving up on love?
What if sometimes, it’s the very thing God uses to teach you what love really is?
Sis, there’s a difference between holding on because God told you to—and holding on because you’re afraid to release what you want.
In this episode of Girl, Date the Good Guy, we’re talking about the uncomfortable truth of Holy Love: sometimes love requires surrender. Not chasing. Not forcing. Not manipulating the outcome. Not trying to make something happen before God’s timing.
Sometimes, you have to open your hand and trust God with what—or who—you’ve been holding so tightly.
We’ll talk about what it really means to love someone without losing yourself, how surrender can reveal what’s actually yours to carry, and why letting go doesn’t always mean the end. Sometimes, it simply means getting out of God’s way.
Because Holy Love doesn’t require you to abandon your standards, your peace, or your relationship with God just to keep someone.
Scripture:
So grab your coffee, sis, and come sit with me in your Holy Space.
This is your Holy Rescue.
In this episode, we’ll talk about:
The difference between surrendering and giving up
Why love cannot be built on chasing or control
What happens when you release someone to God
How Holy Love protects your peace and your standards
Why sometimes the most loving thing you can do is let go
What am I still holding onto that God is asking me to place back in His hands?
If this episode spoke to you, don’t keep it to yourself. Share it with a sister who may need this reminder today.
Girl, Date the Good Guy is your Holy Space to heal your heart, raise your standards, and learn what God-led love can actually look like.
Until next time, sis—This is your Holy Rescue!

What if the reason you can't recognize good love… isn't because something is wrong with him?
What if your past is still speaking louder than what's happening right in front of you?
Sis, let's talk about it.
When you've been through a toxic relationship, betrayal, manipulation, heartbreak, or repeated disappointment, it can change the way you see love. You learn to look for the red flag. You question people's motives. You wait for the other shoe to drop.
And sometimes, without even realizing it, you can start looking at a good guy through the lens of a bad relationship.
I know this because I've lived it.
In this episode, I'm getting real about what God has been showing me during my Holy Pause—including the uncomfortable realization that I had been carrying old wounds, expectations, suspicion, and survival patterns into something God was showing me differently.
Sometimes healing isn't just about getting over the person who hurt you.
Sometimes healing is about learning how to see again.
We're talking about:
And we're getting into the real question:
What if God brings you good love… but your past has trained you to expect bad love?
Because sis, you don't want to spend your life making a good man pay for what a bad one did.
You don't want your heartbreak to become your identity.
And you don't want your trauma to become your discernment.
There is healing available.
There is peace on the other side of surrender.
And sometimes God has to heal the lens before you can clearly see what's standing in front of you.
Proverbs 3:5–6
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding…”
Sometimes you don't get the explanation first.
Sometimes you get the invitation to trust.
Welcome to your Holy Rescue. ❤️

Sis… being a Christian does not mean being a doormat.
And I know somebody needed to hear that.
In this episode of Girl, Date the Good Guy, we’re talking about boundaries—and what it actually looks like to love people without allowing them to disrespect you.
Because yes, we are called to love.
Yes, we are called to forgive.
Yes, we are called to extend grace.
But grace does not mean giving people unlimited access to you.
And boundaries don't mean you're becoming cold, bitter, or unforgiving.
Sometimes a boundary is simply saying:
“This doesn't work for me.”
And then having the courage to stand behind it.
I'm getting real about my own journey from “Spicy Emily” to learning how to contain my fire. 😂 I've had to learn how to stop people-pleasing, speak up, communicate when something isn't okay, take accountability when I'm wrong, and stop trying to fix people who aren't willing to do the work themselves.
We're talking about why accountability and communication are essential in relationships, why you can be kind and still have a backbone, and what happens when you've communicated clearly but someone continues to cross the line.
Because sometimes loving someone means having the hard conversation.
And sometimes loving them means stepping back and putting them at the altar instead of trying to play Holy Spirit in their life.
We'll also talk about what Jesus teaches us about boundaries, how He walked away from situations that weren't His assignment, and why holiness does not require you to tolerate disrespect.
And yes...
I'm telling you about my recent bakery encounter because apparently God decided I needed a real-life boundaries test. 😂
Spoiler alert:
Old Emily wanted to “punch-throat” somebody.
New Emily used her words and went to management.
Growth, baby.
That's growth.
And finally, we're bringing this into Christian dating—because when you know your worth, you start looking at red flags differently.
You stop making excuses for disrespect.
You stop confusing potential with character.
You stop trying to rescue grown men.
And you start paying attention to how someone responds when you communicate a boundary.
You don't need a perfect man.
You need a man who can communicate, take accountability, apologize, grow, and love you with the same gentleness and respect you're willing to give him.
Because, sis...
you are gold.
You don't have to become hard to protect your heart.
You just have to learn how to stand.
Boundaries are holy.
Go get you some. ❤️
Luke 4:28–30 — Jesus walked through the crowd and went on His way.
Matthew 10:14 — Jesus instructed His disciples to leave when they were not welcomed or received and shake the dust from their feet.

I’m back, sis. ❤️
After three months in a Holy Pause—a season of consecration, surrender, and getting quiet with God—I’m finally back behind the microphone.
And I’m not coming back as the same woman who stepped away.
In this episode, I’m opening up about what happened during those three months and sharing parts of my story I haven’t really talked about here before.
I grew up in religion, spent years searching for freedom and validation in the world, and eventually discovered something that changed everything: grace.
I’m imperfect. That’s exactly why I need Jesus.
During this Holy Pause, God began revealing just how much of my life had been shaped by survival, people-pleasing, perfectionism, fear, control, and the need to hold everything together. I had spent years trying to fix things I was never meant to fix—and even trying to save myself.
Then came a night of raw honesty with God.
Face-first on my pillow, crying out for Him to heal the places in me I could no longer carry, something broke. I stopped trying to put all the pieces of my life together and surrendered them to the One who could.
I laid things on the altar.
Including expectations.
Because sometimes God asks us to surrender more than our sin. Sometimes He asks us to surrender our plans, our timelines, our need for control, and even the things we desperately want Him to do.
And somewhere in that surrender, I found a peace I had never known before.
This episode is also a reintroduction to Girl, Date the Good Guy and the beginning of a new season.
We’re talking about the heart behind this podcast, what God has been birthing during my Holy Pause, and why I believe this space is becoming something bigger than dating.
We’re talking about The Holy Rescue.
A place for the woman sitting in the wreckage of a breakup.
The woman healing from heartbreak.
The woman trying to recover from a Toxic Relationship.
The woman looking back and wondering why she ignored the Red Flags.
The woman with a Broken Heart who isn't sure what comes next.
If that's you, I want you to know something:
God meets you right where you are.
You don't have to have it all figured out before you come to Him.
You don't have to be perfect.
You just have to come.
This is your holy space to heal, rise, and love again.
This time... with God.

Have you ever felt like you're walking in circles, repeating the same patterns, facing the same struggles, and wondering why nothing seems to change?
In today's episode, I'm sharing a powerful lesson God has been teaching me during this season of consecration and surrender:
Nothing changes if nothing changes.
Through a personal conversation with my daughter, a question from a coworker, and my own testimony of breaking free from a 20-year cycle, we'll talk about what it really takes to move forward into God's promises.
The truth is, lasting change doesn't come from trying harder—it comes from surrendering our plans, our timelines, and our will to God.
If you've been circling the same mountain for far too long, this episode is for you.
Why repeating the same actions produces the same results
The spiritual danger of staying stuck in familiar cycles
What God showed me during this season of consecration
The conversation with my daughter that inspired this message
Why surrender is the key to breakthrough
How the Israelites wandered in the wilderness because of unbelief
Learning to release your plans and trust God's direction
Recognizing when God may be redirecting your path
My personal testimony of breaking free from a toxic 20-year cycle
Exciting updates about the future of the podcast and my upcoming book
Deuteronomy 2:3
Jeremiah 29:11
Proverbs 3:5-6
Matthew 6:33
Sometimes the breakthrough you've been praying for is waiting on the other side of surrender.
You don't have to keep circling the same mountain.
God has a plan, a purpose, and a path forward for your life—but it requires trusting Him enough to let go of your own.
Nothing changes if nothing changes.
As I continue this season of consecration, I'll be simplifying my schedule, preparing for the relaunch of the podcast, and finishing the manuscript for my very first book.
Thank you for your prayers, encouragement, and support during this exciting season. I can't wait to share what's coming next.
Stay tuned for upcoming announcements about the podcast relaunch, book release, and future opportunities to connect, receive prayer, and grow together in faith.

So... you're fresh out of a breakup, sitting in heartbreak, healing from a broken heart after a toxic relationship, or finally seeing the red flags you missed along the way.
Or maybe you've finally found a good man, but you can't stop crashing out because safe love feels scary.
If you're asking yourself, "Where do I go from here?"
Sis... welcome to your Holy Rescue.
Girl, Date the Good Guy is a Christian podcast for women healing after heartbreak who are ready to stop the bleeding, surrender the past, draw closer to God, renew their minds through His truth, and step into Holy Alignment so they can recognize, receive, and build Holy Love... this time, with God.
Hi, I'm Emily Jordan. I have mud on my boots, scars on my heart, and I know what it feels like to be in the trenches.
I've stood where you're standing - the heartbreak, the confusion, the overthinking, the disappointment, and the moments you wonder if you will ever feel like yourself again.
But I have also experienced what happens when you finally surrender control, give God the pen, and lay everything at the altar so He can do the healing only He can do.
Because here's the truth: You cannot hold the promise while you’re still bleeding from the past.
Together, we'll heal what heartbreak tried to destroy, evict the squatters in our minds, strengthen our relationship with God, learn to hear His voice, sharpen our discernment, break unhealthy cycles, and date from healing—not our wounds.
Are you ready for your Holy Exhale?
Let's heal.
Let's rise.
And when God says it's time...
Let's love.
