This week on the Girl, Get Up Podcast, I sat down with Ashley N. Browning, Adjunct Professor, Self-Care Influencer, and the powerhouse behind She Selfish LLC, to unpack what it really means to make self-care a lifestyle!  Ashley N. Jarmar Green is the epitome of diversity in music, beginning his artist career in Death Metal and now transitioning his sound to a more hip-hop genre. His musical journey began with attending a metal concert with one of his middle school friends, an experience that sparked his interest so much that he started writing his own music and lyrics, eventually forming his own metal band.

After facing challenges with life on the road, Jarmar was intuitively guided to expand his sound. He utilized his distinct musical background and influence to intricately blend with 808 beats typically associated with hip-hop, creating a unique fusion that transcends traditional genre boundaries. His most recent releases, "Financials" and "Backends" (released January 28th of this year), have been celebrated by his peers for their originality and ability to transcend stereotypes.

Beyond music, Jarmar combines his talent for sales and business with a deep study of his favorite music moguls, Kanye West and Percy "Master P" Miller, as he builds his music empire. In this endearing and soulful episode of Girl, Get Up, I share space with Dan Keiser, a Singer/Songwriter, Fingerstyle Guitarist, Author, and Bandleader of the Dan Keiser Band.  Dan has been honing his musical talents since the age of 9, developing a deep love for creating all types of music, including classical, Bluegrass, and Rock & Roll. With an unwavering commitment to creating great music with meaningful messages that aim to change hearts and minds, Dan has built a remarkable career spanning education, performance, and now publishing.  Starting his professional journey as a math teacher by day and night, Dan performed in restaurants, taverns, and wineries throughout his region before taking early retirement to focus solely on his passion for music. Today, he leads the Dan Keiser Band, comprised of some of the most talented musicians from various backgrounds, performing popular tracks like "Give It to Me Straight" and "All Along the Watchtower" throughout Atlantic County, NJ, and surrounding areas along the Eastern Seaboard.
