In this episode of Girl, You So Random, I had the pleasure of talking with Rose-Ingrid Benjamin. She was raised in Ottawa and is a member of the Haitian diaspora settled in what is commonly known as Canada. She has clearly taken disappointing her Haitian mother as a calling as she has followed the dopamine to a new career every few years. From singer to preacher to actor to writer and now comedian, Rose-Ingrid has left no stone unturned as they subconsciously attempt to make up for her lack of medical degree by collecting hyphenates. They have performed stand-up in across Canada and the US, including Lady Fest Montreal, Sweet & Salty Comedy Tour, Laugh Riot Girrrl, and Portland Maine Comedy Festival.

We can't complain about the lack of opportunities male comedians aren't given us or the ones we aren't given, when we have the opportunity to create them for ourselves with the help of each other. In this episode of Girl, You So Random, I had the pleasure of talking with Tashika Campbell. She began her Improv journey in 2017 in Baltimore. Originally from Charlotte, Tashika is a founding member of the award-winning troupe Cake Walk. In addition to performing, she is the lead coordinator of F.A.M Fest, the first Improv festival dedicated to centering and celebrating Black performers in the DMV, (D.C., Maryland and Virginia) area. Currently, Tashika works as an education consultant with Ubiquitii Educational Solutions, which uses SEL concepts to promote learning in students. She also serves as President of the Board of Directors with the Baltimore Improv Group theater and is the Diversity Advisor with Camp Improv Utopia. Tashika is a highly sought-after coach, teacher and workshop facilitator, and has previously worked with Bird City Improv, Queen City Improv, Black and Funny Festival and Comedy Sportz.

In this episode of Girl, You So Random, I had the pleasure of talking with comedienne, August O'neal. August started her comedy career 12 years ago and has been cracking audiences up ever since. She has performed twice for Chocolate Sundays at the Laugh Factory and The World-Famous Comedy Store. She also performs in her home state of Arizona at Stand Up Live and Stir-Crazy Comedy Club. For 2024, August has already performed in Paris at The Broadway Comedy Club, The Empire State Comedy Festival, Comedy in Harlem, The Lysistrata Comedy Fest in Austin and Keenan Thompson's Pop-Up Comedy Festival at Jimmy Kimmel's Comedy Club in Las Vegas. She's also produced two comedy specials at The Funny Bone, along with her Hotter Than July Summer Series in Waikiki that she started two years ago and is gearing up for 3 more shows this September.
