The Ladies take it West Coast to East Coast this episode, and #SocialDistance with our guy Becks, host of The Plugs Radio 96.7 FM in the DMV area. It was perfect timing to get Becks on to discuss the most recent news of Elena Delle Donne being declined medical opt-out due to her medical condition of Lyme disease. Becks gives us his reaction to the news, and what that can mean for the Mystics, WNBA reigning champs, in the upcoming season. Mo & Mel also give their take on just what a tuff position the WNBA has put EDD in, in making such a tuff choice; risk her health to play or lose her pay.

Becks being from Dubai, we also get his take on “Fight Island” and just what Dana White has accomplished for the UFC, the sport of MMA and the world of sports in itself. The ladies and Becks discuss the main event between Usman and Masvidal, and just how much of an accomplishment it was for Masvidal to have fought 5 rounds with a decision after only being called up to the fight 8 days prior. But that is not all the Sports news out there, we talk about the NBA bubble, the “Snitch Line” and just how bad must the food be if one player takes on 8 additional days of isolation just to get his food delivery. However it all comes down to, will Sports continue? With start dates for the WNBA, NBA & NHL being released, MLS & USL having started and the hopes of MLB & NFL to be announced…can we put our money on all the leagues seasons going on as planned?

Mo & Mel are continuing their #SocialDistancing (especially with the #COVID numbers so high) and are continuously trying to understand just when Sports will be back. The ladies are thrilled to finally get guest, Jesse Merrick, on the show! Jesse is a sports anchor on News3LV here in Las Vegas and has been a great edition to the Sports team on News 3.
Jesse gives us a little background on his upbringing, school & his the start of his sports career in Colorado & Alabama, and how he feels about the up & coming sports scene in Las Vegas. Mo & Mel get Jesse’s take on the NBA season start, the WNBA controversy as they arrived to the IMG facilities in Florida, MLB & NHL start dates, and just how will we function with SO MUCH Sports come August, if all leagues start as planned! June 25, 2020 Ep 187: PRIDE Social Distance w/ André Wade
The ladies are excited to have one of their personal favorite friends & guests, André Wade, Director of Silver State Equality on the show. Since June is #PRIDE month, we wanted to round out the month to chat about the updates in the LGBTQ community. After getting past a discussion on wearing #masks full-time as recently mandated by Nevada Governor, adding to other states like California & Washington, André discusses some of the changes recently with the law that passed banning employers from firing employees based off of sexual orientation.
We also dive into the conversation about understanding gender identity and the problems within our society in being all inclusive. Mo & Mel bring up Dwyane Wade’s daughter Zaya, and her being transgender and the supportive parenting that both Dwyane and Gabrielle Union have provided her. Also the issues and possible reasons why it is so difficult for society, in particular men, to understand or be appreciative of how they are raising her and allowing her to be her true self.
It wouldn’t be a sports show if Mo & Mel didn’t chat sports, which of course is supposedly “returning” next month in July. But will it? With the recent increase in COVID numbers all across the country, and especially in these states that will be hosting league “bubbles” of play, we discuss what that means and what we can possibly expect come season start dates. Will Sports really return?

Talk about TIMING, today’s show the ladies welcomed one of their favorite guests on, Mr. Thomas Olsen…aka TKO…aka The Mayor of Cashman, goaltender for our local USL Soccer team, the Las Vegas LightsFC. It just so happened the ladies nor Tommy would know of the breaking news just before going live that Coach Eric Wynalda & the Las Vegas LightsFC would be parting ways! This was a shocker to everyone, and we had the opportunity to touch on the subject with Tommy, his thoughts and his admiration for Coach Wynalda and what he brought to the team. We also chat about what this means for the LV LightsFC team, especially with the season geared to start on July 11th, less than a month away. As of now no details are set as to where teams will play due to COVID, but the team is ready to get back on the field, however it may look.
The ladies also chat the ongoing Social Injustice issues in the country and we get Tommy’s take on just what this movement and recent events have meant to him and his take & stance on the issues at hand. There is a lot happening in the sports world with WNBA soon to start, the Las Vegas Aces acquire a new guard, the MLB is possibly on the verge or agreeing to terms on a 60game schedule and we get ready to see just who shows up to the “Orlando Bubble Experiment” for the NBA as players need to make a decision by June 24th.

And even with everyone being exhausted mentally and emotionally with the current events, Mo & Mel use their platform to encourage discussion on Racial injustice in America. So in this weeks episode the ladies are joined by the guys & gals of the SportsLifeTalk podcast to discuss this past weeks events in our country. This episode is a bit different than usual, as we take on the importance of #BlackLivesMatter with the recent events of George Floyd's senseless murder. The SportsLifeTalk crew is based in Dallas so we hear about the climate out their with protests and thoughts on racial injustice, the continued deaths of innocent black men & women at the hands of police and their thoughts on things that need to change. Mo & Mel chime in with their thoughts on what can be done to start making much needed & overdue change both in educating non-black friends, family & community, as well as the major changes that need to be addressed in law enforcement.
But you know two sports podcasts can’t get together and NOT mention sports!!! We address some of the reactions from the sports world on this serious issue, as well as get some laughs in talking about those darn Cowboys, updates on the NBA, MLS, NHL and NFL. Another great episode!

As Las Vegas embarks on opening into Phase 2; the ladies are practicing their social distancing with guest Gabe Robinson, defender of the Las Vegas Lights Football Club. Mo & Mel have been missing their local USL team, being on the field and coving these amazing guys & their EPIC fans! Gabe talks with the girls about his back ground in Track & field, his first love, and what got him into Soccer. We also get to know about his bond with his family & parents, and get to hear about him & his finance’s workouts and their time in Quarantine.
Plus we get to hear from Gabe on relationship with his teammates, their challenges on the road last season, and what to expect from the mindset of the team this year, ready to PLAY! The Ladies also discuss the LV Aces, the WNBA’s request for 12 player final rosters (Aces being 11 players) and where a few of the previous Aces are now.
Mo & Mel also discuss the latest news in the NBA, MLB and NFL and their reported soon-to-come return to practices and training camps. The NHL is the first professional team league to announce their plan & dates fo their reopening of facilities is to come in July, with playoff style games to begin into the next Phase. And we announce the #GirlPower going to Megan Raipoe & Sue Bird who will join fell Seattle Sports Icon, Russell Wilson, will host the ESPYS virtually this June.

The Last Dance is officially over, and Mo & Mel needed to have a show dedicated to the docuseries of the 1997-98 Chicago Bulls & Michael Jordan. And of course the ladies had guest BS Williams come back on the show to provide his indepth knowledge with quick wit & humor to make this show one listen too! The series is over, Mel is not sure what to do now, she did have a few MJ memorabilia items she found while #covidcleaning the garage.
Mo & Mel give their takeaways on the show and agree on a few parts like having a Gus around in their lives. BS adds his take of what or if a 1998-99 team could have happened with the Bulls and going for 7. Discussing Phil Jackson’s talented coaching ability & how he was able to lead 2 of the greatest teams; the Bulls and Lakers.

May 14, 2020 Ep 181 Quarantine 6: The Ladies are still on shutdown but joined by guest & comedian, BS Williams.
The ladies getting used to their quarantine "show from home" on the 57th day of their statewide shut down here in Las Vegas. Joining them tonight in the "quarantine sports chat" was Comedian & BMX rider, BS Williams. BS comfortably, like a pro, gravitates to the discussion of women in sports, with a main emphasis on the WNBA. BS explains so eloquently, the breakdown of what the “hits” and “misses” are with WNBA in regards to fan involvement and brand promotion.
Mel spoke on how the College Football teams were looking at strategies to have games in the Fall. The Ladies and BS also broke down the take aways & “eye-openers” into this past Sundays, Michael Jordan's, The Last Dance, Episode’s 7&8. Mel was on a mild flex w/ her 6”6 MJ Cut out while we all reminisced to our love of the games. #girlpower goes to new assistant coach for Las Vegas Aces, Tanisha Wright. Tanisha Wright 14 years in the WNBA, playing for the Seattle Storm, New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx. Mo mentioned how she played in 2015 and 2016 under Coach Laimbeer with the Liberty. Mo touched on how Tanisha was on the all-defensive team and how great of an asset her defensive knowledge & skill will be to this LV Aces Team.
The girls chat about the first since quarantine, UFC 249 match w/ Dominik Cruz Vs Henry Cejudo for the bantamweight title showdown this past Saturday and the results including the amazing 20 second KO, from Francis Ngannou defeating, Jairzinho Rozenstruik.
