Mr and Mrs FESSA went down on my dinner night and omo 😂 it was actually nice. I’ve been hearing about the pageant since but this was my first time seeing it live. The contestants came out 3 times and each time the vibe changed completely. You could tell they really prepared.

First round was just casual. Jean and white polo for everybody. Nothing too much, just clean and coordinated. It was like the intro round so we could see all of them properly before things got serious. People were already hyping and clapping from that first walk.

Second round na where the heat started. Traditional wear. Hall was full of colors everywhere. But the one that caught everybody’s eye was the winner. This guy came out dressed like a native doctor and he was holding fire 😂 I swear the whole hall went quiet first before everybody started shouting. That one shook the place.

Third round was corporate wear, which is suit. Everybody came out looking serious and classy. And Mrs FESSA was on a dinner gown too, so she really stood out. You could see who really wanted the crown by the way they were walking and carrying themselves.

At the end, Mrs FESSA went to one of the ladies and Mr FESSA went to one guy. For Face of FESSA we only had Mr Face of FESSA because no lady came out for the female own, so that side was empty. Overall the program was nice. Music was good, crowd was involved, and that native doctor with fire stole the whole night for me.

😂 Alright, let’s get into it properly. Today’s the day we’ve been waiting for — our faculty dinner night! 🎉 After exactly one week of preparation, and a whole lecture-free week, it finally happened. We literally shut down lectures for 7 days just so everyone could focus on getting ready, rehearsing, and building up the vibe. The campus has been buzzing since Monday. From banner designs, to rehearsals, to dress fittings, everyone was involved. And the energy? It’s been building up all week. By Friday morning everybody was already in that “dinner night mood.”

The night itself was a full package, no dull moment. We kicked off with the pageant show to crown Mister and Missus of our faculty. People came out looking sharp 🔥 — gowns, suits, makeup, the whole red carpet vibe. The contestants brought their A-game with talent displays, Q&A, and catwalk. The crowd was screaming for their departments and friends. After the crown was handed over, we switched gears to the award presentation. This was the serious but emotional part. We gave awards to the best students, best lecturers, most supportive staff, and other categories. People were cheering, taking pictures, some were even getting teary. It felt good to actually celebrate hard work and dedication.

Then came the part everyone was waiting for — the dinner party. After all the formalities, we just let loose. Food was served hot, music was loud, and the dance floor was full from the start. It was that kind of night where you forget about assignments and just enjoy your people. Different departments were vibing together, executives were dancing with students, and even some lecturers joined the dance floor 😂. We ate, we laughed, we took group pics, and we danced until the DJ had to announce last song. It was the perfect way to close out lecture-free week.

Honestly, it was a night to remember. One full week of prep, one night of pure enjoyment. We celebrated wins, we crowned kings and queens, we honored excellence, and we ended with good food and good vibes. If you missed it, you missed a whole movie 😂. But don’t worry, the pictures and videos will do justice. Lecture-free week is officially wrapped, and now we go back to books. But tonight? We earned it 🎉

If you’ve been following my posts this week you go know say I’ve been talking about our faculty dinner night 😂 I’m part of the executives and it’s holding tomorrow, Friday. But before we even get there, today was the last activity for our lecture free week and they didn’t come to play. We had swimming competition and snooker competition back to back, and it was one of those days where everybody just came out to catch cruise and represent their department.

Students started coming in by 3PM. The plan was to start early but then rain just came down like it was paid 😂 Fair rain scattered everywhere. Everybody was running under tents, some people just sat inside the hall gisting. The organizers were on the mic like “please bear with us, the rain will stop soon” and we just dey wait. Nobody vexed too much because lecture free week has been sweet already.

Since the pool was not ready, they said let’s start with snooker first. And that thing carried us for hours 😂 The board was set up and people were playing back to back. You know how school snooker is — crowd everywhere, people shouting “concentrate”, “you miss am”, “take your time”. Some people were there seriously trying to win, some just came to collect cruise. Even those who don’t know how to hold the cue were standing there cheering. Departments were already forming their own small fan clubs for their players.

By 3PM the rain had reduced and they said okay, pool time. That’s when the swimming competition started and the whole energy changed. It was interdepartment, so every department brought out their swimmers. The pool area was packed. People with drums, bottles, department shirts, shouting slogans. It felt like a final 😂 The vibe was different. You could feel the competition in the air.

They did it in two rounds. First round was interdepartment — departments racing against each other to see who had the fastest swimmers. After that they did another round inside each department to pick the real champion 😂 Some people swam like professionals, some people were just doing doggy style to cross the pool. Both were entertaining. The crowd was screaming for every department, win or lose.

At the end they announced the rankings and crowned the winning department as the winner of the swimming competition for the 7th Republic FISSA FESA Student Week. People were clapping, hailing, taking pictures. It wasn’t about beef, it was just about pride and having fun. After all the stress of lectures, everybody deserved that kind of day.

So that’s how we wrapped up the lecture free week. Snooker in the afternoon, swimming in the evening, rain tried to spoil it but we still turned up. And tomorrow is the dinner night. As an executive I go dey there early to set up, run around, and make sure everything is in order. Tie on neck, stress in body, but the gist go sweet 😂

I’ve been off for a few days now 😂 Before I even started this World Cup edition vlog, I had to travel for a traditional marriage in one of the states close to my school. It was actually a nice break. Food was plenty, music was loud, people were dancing, gist everywhere. I just went to chill, support my people, and forget about school for a bit. Honestly I needed that time. No lectures, no assignments, just pure enjoyment. But after some days you start missing your own bed and your roommates, so I knew I couldn’t stay forever.

Today was the day I came back. I left the place by 12PM. Four hours journey straight to my school. I was already preparing my mind for the usual Nigerian road stress — bad roads, traffic, bus drivers doing anyhow 😂 But this trip was surprisingly smooth. No drama. The road was free, the driver was calm, and the time just went fast. I spent most of it on my phone, watching World Cup clips and replying messages. Before I knew it we were already close.

I got to school by 4PM. As soon as the bus stopped at the park, I saw my roommate standing there waiting for me 😂 He came all the way from our room just to help me carry my things. Bags, provisions, everything. He didn’t even let me stress. We were just laughing and gist as we walked back to the hostel. It felt good to be back, like the break was really over. The room was dusty but that’s normal. We cleaned up a bit, I arranged my things, and just settled in.

So yeah, I’m officially back now. The traditional marriage was a vibe, the journey back was smooth, and I’m ready to start my school vlog again from today. No more resting 😂 Back to classes, back to content, back to everything. Let’s see how this semester goes.

Bro my day was actually calm today 😂 I woke up on time for once, no snoozing my alarm 5 times. Sun was already up, I brushed, ate something light, and then my dad said we should go to the mechanic. His car had been making that noise again so we had to go sort it out. Spent most of the morning till mid afternoon there. Just sitting around, watching the mechanic work, my dad talking with the guys, me scrolling my phone. Normal father-son mechanic day stuff.

But the highlight of the day was later when I caught the World Cup game. Portugal vs Mexico. And ahh it was a banger 😂 Both teams just kept attacking and attacking. No dull moment. You couldn’t even predict who was going to win because every 2 minutes one team was in the other team’s box. The pace was crazy. I was just shouting at the TV like “defend, shoot, pass” even though nobody could hear me.

Then Jude Bellingham happened. Man scored two World Cup goals in under 100 seconds against Mexico 💀💀 I was legit shocked. First one went in and before I could even process it, second one dropped. The whole timeline was going mad. For Mexico to concede like that back to back, it broke them. After that the game still had chances but you could feel the energy shift. Both sides kept going for it, but Bellingham’s burst just killed the game.

So that was basically how my day went. Morning was mechanic wahala with my dad, afternoon was just chilling, and evening was pure football madness. From fixing car parts to watching Bellingham go crazy in under 2 minutes. A very random day, but I’ll take it 😂 What a time to be a football fan.

Bro I was just home chilling today, nothing planned, just me on the couch with my phone and the TV on 😂 I even told myself I wasn’t going to get too invested but I ended up watching the whole Spain vs Portugal game from start to finish. The vibe in the house was calm at first, but as the game went on it got tense. Every attack, every chance, I was just sitting there like “come on Portugal”.

The worst part came right at the end. 90+1 and Spain scored. I just froze. That escort goal came out of nowhere and killed the momentum. Then they showed full time at 90+6 and I was doing the math in my head — only 5 minutes to equalize? That’s not enough time to do anything when you’re chasing a game against Spain. My heart dropped. You could just feel it was over.

And then the camera cut to Ronaldo. Man was crying 😔💔 He was walking off with the escort, head down, wiping his face. After everything he’s done for Portugal, to go out like that in the round of 16 just hit different. It’s a very terrible moment for me as a fan. I was just there staring at the TV like “what can I do? My goodness, out of the world cup just like that.” Five minutes wasn’t enough. No comeback, no magic. Just done.

I know a lot of people will talk about tactics and stats, but for me it’s personal. I grew up watching Ronaldo carry Portugal. Seeing him leave the World Cup in tears hurts. For context too — I’m Kaikeyi from Nigeria, and we feel these moments heavy over here. Football is life for us. We stay up late, we shout, we argue, we cry with the players. So yeah, today was rough. But that’s football. One minute you’re hoping, the next minute it’s over.

Chilling at home today was exactly what I needed. My brothers and I just threw ourselves on the couch with blankets, snacks everywhere, and Brazil vs Norway on the TV. No plans, no stress, just us and football. I wasn’t even planning to watch at first but once the game started I got sucked in. You know how it is when you’re with family — the vibe just makes everything 10x better.

From kickoff it was loud in our living room 😂 My brothers are crazy Brazil fans so every time Brazil touched the ball they were shouting “go go”. And me? I was just there hyping both sides and stealing chips. Norway actually came to play though. They were pressing and making it hard for Brazil, so it wasn’t one of those boring blowouts. We were all yelling at the TV, arguing about offsides, and my youngest brother kept pausing to replay the skills. The full 90 felt like it flew by because we were talking and laughing the whole time.

The best part was just the energy in the house. Every near miss we’d all jump up, every good tackle we’d clap, and when Brazil finally got a good chance we were screaming so loud our neighbor probably heard us. I don’t even care who won tbh — it was more about us being together. My brothers kept trying to explain tactics to me like I don’t watch ball too, and I was just roasting them back. We finished the whole bowl of popcorn and still ordered suya halfway through because why not.

By full time we were all just laid back, tired from shouting but in a good mood. Brazil vs Norway ended and we stayed there for a bit just gist-ing about the game and the other matches coming up. Those are the days I love the most — no going out, no pressure, just me, my brothers, football, and a whole lot of noise in the house. Honestly 10/10 day.

Today was finally the D-day for the traditional marriage and honestly I was just praying nothing would go wrong. The plan was simple — start mass cooking by 5pm yesterday so we’d be done early and travel to the village that same night. But life had other plans. We couldn’t get chicken the previous day, so we had to run around and buy it that morning. Because of that the cooking dragged and we didn’t finish till around 11pm. We were all dead tired and annoyed because the whole point was to be in the village already by then. You know how it is, once one thing shifts, everything else follows.

Even with the late night, we still showed up. The wedding kicked off by 2pm and the place was already full. Aunties were everywhere giving orders, the drummers were on, and you could just feel the energy in the air. The traditional part took time — kola, the speeches, the family introductions, all of it. It wasn’t rushed at all. It finally ended around 6pm. Despite the stress from the night before, it was actually beautiful to watch. When both families sat down and did things properly, you forget about the wahala that happened earlier. That’s the thing about these traditional weddings, once it starts it carries you along.

After 6pm we couldn’t just leave. We had to pack up everything — chairs, canopies, pots, the leftover food. It took us about an hour to arrange things and make sure nothing was left behind. By then people were already heading out and the compound was emptying fast. We were all moving slowly because we were tired, but at least we finished. No drama, no missing plates, just everyone trying to get it over with.

I finally got home by 7:50pm. From town to our village is only about an hour drive so it’s not far, but today it felt longer because of how the day went. I just sat in the car and replayed everything in my head. The cooking delay messed up the timing, but the main thing happened and it went as planned. The marriage was done, families were happy, and that’s what counts. I’m just glad I was there to see it all through.

If you’ve been following my posts lately you’ll know I had to leave school because my family was doing a traditional marriage in the neighboring state. I finally got there yesterday which was Thursday, and honestly it felt weird at first. New environment, new faces everywhere, people talking in dialect I barely hear back in school. I just sat there trying to get used to it all 😕 Like you know that feeling when you enter somewhere and everyone already knows each other except you? That was me yesterday.

Today was the eve though, so there was no time to be shy. The whole house was busy from morning. This is a matti guy eve, so it’s that serious part before the actual traditional wedding tomorrow. Aunties were in the kitchen, uncles were outside arranging chairs and canopies, cousins were running errands back and forth. I just got drafted into everything 😂 One minute they’re telling me to go buy something, next minute I’m helping to arrange the drinks and gift items.

It was a lot of running around. We had to sort out the bride price list, make sure the kola and drinks were complete, and confirm who was going to represent the family tomorrow. People were shouting instructions, the kids were everywhere, and the compound was just loud. But in a good way. You could feel that wedding energy already. Even with how tired I was, it was nice seeing the family come together like that.

By evening we were all just sitting outside tired but laughing. Tomorrow is the main day so everyone kept saying “rest well, tomorrow go tough”. For me it’s still a bit new, but I’m settling in now. Getting here Thursday felt random, but being here for the eve makes it make sense. Hopefully tomorrow goes smooth. I’ll update you guys after the traditional wedding.

The kickoff for our Dean’s Cup was actually a moment today. We’ve been hyping faculty week all semester, and today was the day it finally started for real. The field at IMO State University was already full by like 8am. Teams warming up, students with faculty shirts, music playing from someone’s speaker. You could feel that “week has started” energy in the air. But the main thing everyone was waiting for was the Dean herself to come and officially kick it off.

And she showed up. The Dean of the Environmental Faculty walked onto the field and the whole place just shifted. First match was ESM vs FAA, so both departments were already lined up waiting. The moment she stepped in, students surrounded her. Not in a rush way, just everyone wanted to be close, take pictures, cheer. People were shouting “Dean! Dean!” and clapping. She was smiling the whole time, waving and greeting people like she actually knew half the faculty 😂 It made it feel less like some formal event and more like she was really there to enjoy it with us.

Then came the actual kickoff. They brought the ball to her right in the center circle. For a second it was quiet, everyone watching. She took the shot, and boom — first ball of the Dean’s Cup tournament was kicked by her. The crowd went wild. ESM and FAA players clapped, students were screaming, phones were out recording. It was simple but it meant a lot. Having her do it herself instead of just giving a speech made it feel real. Like the tournament was blessed or something.

After that the match proper started and it was actually a good game. Both sides came out strong because nobody wanted to lose the first game of the week. In the end ESM later won FAA 2:1. It was tight, but ESM just took their chances better. The crowd was into it the whole time, chanting and everything. Honestly it was a very good and pleasant way to start. For me as welfare director I was running around making sure water was set and everything was calm, but even I paused to watch. If day one started like that, I’m actually looking forward to how the rest of faculty week will go.
