Part 3 of our conversation with David Urban.  David brings us back to the reality that sharing your hope is not a have to but a want to.  He encourages us that when our passion for Jesus seems to be fading and we feel like we don’t want to share our hope then David suggests that we should go back to the feet of Jesus and just spend time in his presence.  Ask Jesus to show you His love for us.  Ask Him to remind us about how much He loves us.  When that happens Jesus love will begin to overflow through you.  You will then begin to see people the way Jesus sees people.

This week we are going to hear three different stories of how David shares his hope with people.  This first story will make you smile.  David is quite bold in his approach.  I know that some of our listeners may think I could never do that, so hang in there, our last segment of this podcast we share a very important question to ask people:  we have that tucked into our pop the question segment.  It is a question that helps you close the deal.  

We will spend the next three weeks talking to our dear friend, David Urban.  David is an electrical engineer and he works for a certain company in Texas where we call him a “Rocket Scientist.”  David has an infectious passion for Jesus.  When he first became a Christian the people around him thought he would become a pastor in the church.  But God wanted him to remain as a “rocket scientist” - staying in the world sharing his hope of the gospel to everyone that crosses his path.  

In today's episode David shares his testimony and God's calling to ministry in the secular world.  He explains three points the attendant at the Billy Graham Revival suggested he should do:

1. Go home and pray.
2. Start reading your Bible.
3. Start attending a Bible believing church

We thought these three points were excellent tools to put in your tool belt.  Once you pray with someone then these three points helps you to send them off in the right direction. 

We also discuss the scripture:  Luke 10:2.  Where Jesus tells us to beg the Lord of the harvest to send workers into the harvest.  We want to encourage you today to see that the harvest is plentiful - go and be a harvester.

And Segment 3 gives pointers on how to pop the question.  Scott and Tina want to help you create a tool kit of questions that you can ask to begin a spiritual conversation.

Tim Urban - as stated on his Instagram page:  "Was once a famous singer! Now I'm just a regular singer and some other regular stuff."   Tim shares some of his journey as a finalist on American Idol.  He then talks about life today as a millennial and the challenges he faces as he shares his hope in today's world.  

Millennials are not seeing Christians as any different than anyone else.  There is a skeptism with millennials that grew up in the church or around the church.  It didn’t matter.  Their parents still got divorced - still were awful with each other and all that was different is that on Sundays they were at church.  There was nothing different just that .  “I wouldn’t want anything to do with that Gospel either,” states Tim.

You may not always have the opportunity to share the Gospel with someone, but you always have the opportunity to interact with them in love.

In this episode Tina interviews Cammie, her youngest daughter.  Cammie shares some unique stories of conversations she had with a drag Queen, a man of color, and a lesbian fellow student.  A part of sharing your hope is to put yourself in places where people need hope.  We all can learn a lesson from Cammie about how she boldly starts conversations and how she loves all people.

As we begin our interview with Adam we see how God had a specific plan for Adam’s life as he accepted Christ as his savior and early on became interested in Creation apologetics.  His journey through random jobs and career choices ultimately led him to his passion:  teaching the biblical perspective of creation daily as he leads guided tours in the Grand Canyon with Canyon Ministries.  We then transition our interview into some of the evidence of the flood as seen through the rocks of the Grand Canyon.  Our interview ends with Adam sharing some tools Christians can use as they share their hope in Christ with others.

Today our podcast begins with the 90 second God Story from Jim Alfaro.  Our purpose for including a testimony with each podcast is to encourage you to share your hope.  We want you to remember when you came to know Christ and then hopefully you will gain confidence to share your hope with others. 

Since we celebrate Christ's resurrection this week we wanted to look at some of the "traditions" people celebrate leading up to Easter.  For example:  What is the purpose of Mardi Gras or Fat Tuesday?  Why is this a big event for people?  And then what is Ash Wednesday and Lent?  Are these events in the Bible?  Does the Bible tell us how to celebrate Ash Wednesday and Lent?  And then does the Bible tell us to take the Lord's supper once a week?  

We finish up our podcast sharing simple ways to share the gift of Easter with your non-believing friends.

Cathy grew up in a Christian home and attended church faithfully with her family.  She learned the Bible stories, she memorized scriptures, and she tried to do everything right.  But what she realized later is that all she was doing was "playing church".  After Cathy got married she moved with her husband to the Virgin Islands where they lived on a sailboat.  During that time Cathy's knowledge of the Bible was challenged.  While on the island she went searching for answers.  That is when she met some very friendly people who helped Cathy with her search for Bible answers.  It was there she found herself immersed in the teachings of the Jehovah Witnesses. 

Listen along as Cathy shares this journey of her search for answers.   But more importantly, observe the characters who played a crucial part in bringing Cathy back to the truth of Jesus Christ.  This is our purpose for sharing Cathy's testimony.  We want you to see that sharing your hope can be as simple as expressing the fruit of the spirit:  love, joy, peace, patience, kindness and goodness.

How do you deal with defeat when it feels like your message is falling on deaf ears?   The battle is on - Satan absolutely hates it when you share your hope in Christ with others.  So of course he is going to fight back.  Satan's strongest plan of attack is with lies and criticism.  But be faithful!  Continue to speak the truth.  God has a plan, we just need to trust Him and follow.
