Solomon said there is nothing new under the sun, so when we witness events could we be seeing we've seen before? The answer is sometimes, but we need to be very careful how we interpret these things. One example of what is happening today in Europe could be compared to a big event in the Bible.

If you want to know who your friends really are begin a conversation with these words, if they stay - they’re your friends. In this episode I look at questions I am asked and why some avoid the conversation.

Because our Creator remains the same, we are the ones who will need to change the way we think, speak and act. Remember we are the ones who are being formed into what He wants us to be - our Creator will never change to be what we want Him to be.

No wall we could ever put up would stop evil - race, religion, political or geographical. Evil will find a way to penetrate our lives until the Messiah comes to rule with his iron rod. How we respond to evil - shows who we really are.

If you had someone tell you not to "hang out" with a certain person or group then you will understand - guilt by association. But are we defined by our friends or the organizations we belong to? Well, sometimes yes we are.

This time of year we often think about the events of the past 12 months. Remembering our disappointments and our triumphs helps us to improve our future. There are some however who choose to remain in their past, never looking forward but lusting after the things that can not be brought into the present.

What does it really mean to think like our Creator? When the Bible repeats the same topics maybe it’s important and we need to adjust our thinking to match. I use an uncomfortable analogy, to introduce this concept so be ready - you might feel uncomfortable but if you do that shows you have compassion.

There are verses in the Bible that should cause us to stop but we read past them without thinking. There are verses that we don't always like and there are the verses that we think we will never be able to understand. Then there are the verses that we read and wonder how they were ever approved to be included.

The “fallout” however does have the potential to affect almost everyone else simply because as the wealthiest protestant denomination, the financial and following legal impact will send a shockwave around the world.
