We’ve all seen the Christmas classic, A Christmas Carol. We know how it goes – old miser Scrooge refuses to help others, and has used his life to collect as much wealth as he can for himself. In the process he lost who he really was and his love of Christmas. We see him as such a villain…but if we are honest, we have some of the same tendencies. Greed creeps into lives in different ways and betrays us, giving us a false sense of control. We want to have all our needs met by our own doing, because that gives us safety. However, Jesus has instructed us to be calm and trust God for his daily provision. Greed and thankfulness are in opposition to each other in our hearts, who is going to wini?
