How can you "love your neighbor as yourself" and be selfish? Which is related to the first command to love the Lord your God with all your heart, sole, and mind" (Matt 22:37-38). We also know  from 1 John 4:20, If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can he love God whom he has not seen? Love is an act of selflessness, not selfishness. List as Pastor Andrew discusses this in this week's message.

Matthew 12:7

7 But if you had known what this means, ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice,’ you would not have condemned the guiltless.

When do we ever have enough? When we have the Lord Jesus, we always have more than enough!!

 

Proverbs 15:

16 Better is a little with the fear of the LORD,

Than great treasure with trouble.

This week Pastor Andrew speaks on this idea of a sliding scale yet James reminds us to treat everyone with the same honor

 

James 2:1 My brethren, do not hold the faith of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Lord of glory, with partiality.

3 And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye?

Luke 14:28

28 For which of you, intending to build a tower, does not sit down first and count the cost, whether he has enough to finish it

This week Pastor Andrew reminds of about one of the most important things we have received from God, His Grace! This Grace is not just for the moment we are saved but it is indeed for our entire lives.

Romans 5:1-2

5 Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Even though the answer to this question "Who Needs Love?" seems obvious we are all tempted to pull away. In this message, Pastor Andrew will remind you of why that is not a good idea!

 

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10

 9 Two are better than one,

Because they have a good reward for their labor.

10 For if they fall, one will lift up his companion.

But woe to him who is alone when he falls,

For he has no one to help him up.

Kindness is a choice that many don't seem to be making these days yet we are commanded in the scripture to "Be kind to one another". Listen as pastor Andrew reminds us of this important concept and command!

 

Ephesians 4:32 And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Jesus said in John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you..." He also said on Matt 7:7 "...Seek and ye shall find" So if you are looking for peace, Jesus will give it to you! Listen as Pastor Andrew talks about finding that Peace.

 

Isaiah 26:3

3 You will keep him in perfect peace,

Whose mind is stayed on You,

Because he trusts in You.

God has never asked you to go it alone, He has given you people as well as Himself to help you carry on! Listen to learn more about what God has provided for you to help you make it,

 

Gen 2:18 And the LORD God said, “It is not good that man should be alone; I will make him a helper comparable to him.”
