Gleeboot

Gleeboot, Season 5 Episode 8 - “Previously Unaired Christmas”

The space time continuum is shaking because Glee has decided it doesn’t need it. This episode is insane and long yet we cut it down by a lot.  We discuss how Glee doesn’t understand Christianity or Mall Santas or what’s appropriate. Honestly this is one of the worst episodes of Glee but we’re 90% sure it wasn’t canon. This was our guest Derek’s first episode, we damaged the poor boy.

It’s puppet week at McKinley because of yet another school safety issue, this time possibly targeted directly at the New Directions. Cullen makes a case for Darren Criss’s belated Glee performance Emmy, while Hannah and Allyssa relive their high school detention day.

Thanks to Blake from Blake’s Takes for watching his first-ever episode of Glee and spiraling into insanity at this unhinged episode. You can find his show on TikTok (@blakes_takes1), YouTube (Blake'sTakes), and Instagram (@blakestakes_).

We honor the memory of Darren Criss’s brother Chuck, a fantastic musician who struggled with depression and died by suicide in February 2022. If you are struggling with your mental health, please reach out to friends, family, and resources like the Suicide Prevention Hotline, which you can call at 800-273-8255.

Gleeboot, Season 5 Episode 6 - “Movin’ Out”

This week, we have special guest Rebekah Thomas of Taboo Topics (@tabootopicspodcast). It’s the Billy Joel tribute episode. We discuss the Marley/Jake/Ryder love triangle and how gross Ryder is. We also discuss dreams and how Kurt kind of pigeon holes Blaine. Becky says the line “Artie’s going to show me his purple mushroom” and society will never recover. Tyra Banks says Sam has vacant midwestern cow eyes and us midwesterners feel called out. Also we get the first seed of Samchel, oh boy.

OOOOOOH BOY! The twerking episode that made God so mad he sent a Pandemic. Like why are these children twerking in school!! Why do they think Miley Cyrus invented twerking? Why does the timeline make no sense? Jasmine (@jazzymoco) joins us once again for this nonsense.

Gleeboot, Season 5 Episode 4 - “A Katy or a Gaga”

This week, we try to discern between the two genders, “Katy” and “Gaga,” that this episode of Glee purports, scream about Schue suspending Marley for not wearing a sexy outfit at school, cringe at Sam and Penny the college student/school nurse flirting, and roll our eyes at the five-person vocal band that Kurt creates for some reason. A huge thanks to our special guest, Cala, who sacrificed her time over two sittings to finish the episode.

We are joined by actor Eric Cheng (@ericjcheng) to watch this episode that feels like Ryan Murphy bullying Jenna Ushkowitz. Why is Bree here? Are teenagers really this evil? Is Demi Lovato what this show needs? Find out here!

Gleeboot, Season 5 Episode 1 - “Love, Love, Love”

It’s season 5, baby, and it’s Beatles Week. Part One. Woof. We rant about Rachel’s horrible callback audition for Funny Girl, Blaine being a love robot for Kurt, the show condescending Tina for being a good friend, and Kitty being more of a protagonist than Marley. Plus, Hannah is super pleased with Mr. Fantastic and Carlisle Cullen teaming up to destroy Rachel’s Broadway dreams, Cullen educates us on demonic rock music, and Allyssa is still super confused as to why they set Glee in Ohio.

Huge thanks to our very special guest, comedian Natalie Nia (IG: @natalieniahansen, TW: @NatNiaComedy, TikTok: @NatalieNiaH) for joining us on this crazy boring season premiere.

Happy Holidays or as the French would say "Joyeux Noel". We're reviewing a holiday movie starring Damien Mcginty and Heather Morris. It's a wild ride for sure.
