If the Trinity are separate persons (Father, Son, Holy Spirit), was the Spirit not at work separate from Jesus during Christ’s earthly presence? Wouldn’t it have worked better if Jesus had stayed on earth and the Holy Spirit had also come? If the Holy Spirit is the answer to everything we want from God, then how do we pray? Do we pray to the Holy Spirit? What does it mean to be “baptized” in the Holy Spirit? These questions and more in today’s episode.

Dr. Ryken told the story of children coming to faith in Jesus, just before they were blown up: How is that a loving display of God’s goodness? If God were loving, wouldn’t he simply stop bombers? 

How can I be assured I have received the gift of the Holy Spirit? I don’t have much peace and joy in my life.

When faced with sin and moral failure, we often look for an answer, a solution. Yesterday in Kelly’s sermon he toured humanism, islam, buddhism, and hinduism, and the answers that he found were insufficient, unable to encompass the weight of the world in any substantial manner, but Christianity could. But what happens if we don’t see brokenness, if we don’t see sin or moral failure and don’t understand our need for something greater? Other world religions aren’t tempting if we don’t want religion. Christianity seems like it’s set up to solve a problem that many people don’t even recognize. Questions like this and more in today’s episode.

Whether you’re single, married, any and everywhere in between, we all have questions on relationships and intimacy when it comes to seeking to live a life of discipleship in service of Christ.

Are marriages formed outside the church really joined by God? Is divorce an option if your spouse commits adultery? Do we take all that the Bible says on the subject of sexuality as applicable for today? How will I be judged by God since I am divorced and remarried but both of these acts occurred before I was a believer? If marriage is a provision for dealing with sexual immorality, how is a single person to deal with the desire to be married and live a pure life knowing full well that God does not promise us the gift of marriage, and may not fulfill this desire?
