The Bible has a story as unique as all the stories we find within its pages, and that story impacts all of us.

This week, we close out our series looking at the story of the Bible, how we got it, and what it means to you and me!

So far in our Bible series, we've talked about the beginning of the Old and New Testaments. This week, we explore the early history of how those two pieces of the Bible came together! The beginning of the Bible doesn't start in the beginning.

As we start our series on the history of how we got the Bible as we know it, it starts with Luke.

As we approach Christmas, we reflect on the birth of Jesus through the eyes of the shepherds.

Why did God choose to reach out to lowly shepherds to announce the coming of Christ?

Because the gospel is all about God meeting ordinary people in their ordinary lives in extraordinary ways!

One of the many iconic images from the Christmas story is the arrival of the wisemen bearing gifts for Jesus.

There are a lot of lessons to be learned from the actions of the wisemen in seeking Jesus.

After all, they weren't just seeking a baby- they were seeking truth.

The Christmas story is all about the coming of Jesus - God's Son born to be our savior.

As we tell this story, we don't just look at Jesus' birth, but also at his life, and the promises he fulfilled.

After all, believing in Jesus as our savior requires one major thing: faith.

Before Jesus was born, the Israelites hadn't heard directly from God in 400 years.

Often times when God is silent, we assume He is absent, when the opposite is true.

God is always present, always working, and He has provided us a savior from sin and death- His son, Jesus.

Pain is never easy to experience or explain, but we have faith in God's ability to use our pain for good.

This week, we finish out our series on the "Worst Year Ever" by talking all about how God uses our pain for His purpose.

2020 may feel like the worst year ever, but the greatest challenge we face is to persevere!
