Providence and Sin: I want us to consider the Display of God’s Providence andSovereignty in the lives of His Servants during unexplained times of suffering, and I wouldlike to start off by asking how the providence of God works in the context of man’s sin.Does providence even come into play? Are the two in any way influential upon oneanother? Or is there no way whatsoever in which the pure and holy providence of arighteous God can be in direct contact with the low, mean and vile sin of man? Nowbefore we even do that, let us first consider what these two big words mean.

There are times, dear friends, when we read the Word or when we sit under the preached Word, in which we are often confronted with certain principles which are true, but just “do not sit well with us”. Now what really matters at times such as these is how we respond to these truths that confront us. Do we re-evaluate our personal stance and see whether what we have believed up until now aligns with Scripture or not? Or do we willfully resist and cling to the false thing we have believed all our lives, and in so doing harden our hearts and fight God and others on these things?
