Michael Franti’s message about the impact of violence in our communities is both current and a multi-generational struggle we have not yet won. It is also a struggle with a spiritual center that asks: who am I, who can I become, and how deeply am I connected with my sisters and brothers? At GLIDE, some members of our community come through Men in Progress, a violence intervention program for men who are making a commitment to address their own violence, with the help and support of their peers. Many of these men have been identified as batterers by the criminal justice system, but at GLIDE they can change their own paths and contribute, together, to up-ending the cycles of violence that once entrapped them.
Join GLIDE and the soulful sounds of the GLIDE Ensemble and the Change Band under the direction of Clifford Coulter LIVE in San Francisco! Amen. Hallelujah. Right On. Shalom. Salaam. Namaste. Visit us at www.glide.org. At GLIDE, we believe in creating a radically inclusive, just and loving community mobilized to alleviate suffering and break cycles of poverty and marginalization. Our core values emerge from GLIDE as a spiritual movement and are rooted in empowerment, recovery and personal transformation. We sing. We dance. We laugh together. We celebrate life. Join us in this transformative work today by making a gift, volunteering, or joining us for a Celebration this upcoming Sunday at 9:00 am or 11:00 am on the corner of Taylor and Ellis in San Francisco.
