Publisher's Summary:
"Glinda of Oz" is the fourteenth "Land of Oz" book written by L. Frank Baum, published in 1920. It is the last book of the original Oz series. Like most of the Oz books, the plot features a journey through some of the remoter regions of Oz; though in this case the pattern is doubled: Dorothy and Ozma travel to stop a war between the Flatheads and Skeezers; then Glinda and a cohort of Dorothy's friends set out to try to rescue them... Wonderful, eccentric, moving and funny as always!

Interesting
I hadn't read the Oz books as a child so I decided I should give them a try. I suppose, were I a child of about 7 or 8, the book might have appealed to me. However I have read many children's books and enjoyed them. I didn't really enjoy this book. I read it to read it. It seems to me that perhaps as with modern authors someone wanted motor Oz books and so the author cranked them out. I won't rate it a one star but I didn't find it that great a read either.
A Delight
Baum's 14th Oz book, published posthumously. While the stories had become a bit repetitive by this point, the introduction of new characters continues to entertain and there's something just so charming about these. They are, in every respect, American fairytales. If you like fantasy or have kids of any age, get these books. This one is a bit darker than the preceding volumes.
Five Stars
A good book of further adventures in OZ.
a good old book in the series
Another story in the series. Again, dorthy finds herself in oz, taking up with some old friends and a bunch of new ones.
He saved the best for last
One of the better books in the series, with a very valuable message - duty means performing some tasks that are unpleasant, but performing those very tasks can make life better for everyone. Having read them all in sequence, I am almost sad to know this is the last one I can read to my boys.
Synopsis - Dorothy and Ozma travel to a remote section of Oz in an attempt to arbitrate between the Skeezers and Flatheads, two fairy races on the verge of war of a fish supply. Both are made captive by the leader of the Skeezers, who has no interest in peace, and are nearly made permanent prisoners when the Skeezers city becomes trapped under a lake. The entire court of Oz comes to their rescue, led by Glinda the Good and the Wizard, and the group learns a valuable lesson about performing one's duty.
