    Title: Hamster Princess: Whiskerella
    Author: Ursula Vernon
    Narrator: Eva Kaminsky
    Format: Unabridged
Length: 2 hrs and 15 mins
    Language: English
    Release date: 01-23-18
    Publisher: Recorded Books
    Genres: Kids, Ages 5-7
    Publisher's Summary:
A funny, feminist twist on the Cinderella fairy tale for fans of fractured fairy tales
Princess Harriet Hamsterbone is not the kind of princess who enjoys fancy dresses or extravagant parties. Cliff-diving, fractions, and whacking people with swords are more her thing. So when she's forced to attend a boring ball in honor of a visiting ambassador, Harriet is less than thrilled - until a bewitchingly beautiful stranger arrives.
Who is she? And where did she come from? The mystery leads to a not-so-wicked stepsister, an incontinent lizard, and a fairy's spell that's really more of a curse. Luckily, Harriet knows a thing or two about curses.
Smart, funny, and filled with swashbuckling adventure, book five in the critically acclaimed Hamster Princess series is a hilariously re-told fairy tale for the modern age.

    Whisked away by Whiskerella
A great entry in a series that has been terrific from day one. My order arrived while I was at work on the night shift (at a bookstore, no less) and my evil husband texted me screenshots of him reading the book....without me!
There's so much opportunity in a fractured fairy tale and Vernon squeezes out every drop of humor and unconventional fun. She carries on the consistent message that a girl can choose who she wants to be with and shouldn't be forced into anything that isn't the right fit with lots of sly humor to keep the mood light. It's great to see favorite characters return (Wilbur, Mumfrey, Ratpunzel, Mom and Dad) as well as meeting new favorites. More of the Bat Ambassador, please! Maybe a trip to Batavia someday?
So happy to see another entry in the series and my only wistful complaint is that now I have to wait for the next one.
Another fun romp with Princess Harriet
Once again Ursula Vernon provides a fun skewering of a classic fairy tale. This hilarious take on Cinderella is action-packed and has a satisfying ending. Would be 5 stars, but a couple small internal inconsistencies were a little jarring - Ratpunzel's species changes from rat to mouse and back over the course of the book, and the name "Whiskerella" starts as a nickname Harriet makes up, which then everybody acts like is the character's actual name - but they're little nitpicks, and the intended audience of kids likely won't pick up on them. A really great addition to the Hamster Princess series, would highly recommend
    Whiskerella
This book was thrilling to read and hd a lot of adventurous themes and it was full of action packed scenes. This book empowers females and Ursula did a really good job of making this book sad, happy and mysterious. I can't wait for the next Hamster Princess book to come out!
    Great
This is another adventure for Princess Harriet and her friends. It is a funny take on Cinderella. It is my favorite story in the series so far.
I love fractured fairy tale takes
I'm such a sucker for this series. I love fractured fairy tale takes, and this one does a brilliant job keeping up the goofy fun while sneaking in quite a bit about choices and agency.
(Plus it has an adorable bat ambassador-Harriet in Batavia please! And great father-daughter bonding...)

    Sweet book
    Lovely story.
    Five Stars
    Love this book.
    Violet Comes to Stay
This is a wonderful children's book about a kitten who was different. All the others were picked for their new homes. But Violet, who had been taught all the rules on how to catch mice, always forgot a rule and messed everything up, and was brought back to her home. Mama cat assured her that God had a very special place for her. Finally that special person came for her and Violet helped her find all the mouse holes to stuff shut rather than needing to kill them. Our grandson loves the story.
    A bit diappointing.
A little disappointed in the book. I realize it's a children's book, knew that. BUT, I thought that Jan Karon wrote it.
    Great. Very good service

A lot of killing - my 7yo was freaked
This was recommended by the 4-7 filter on audible. Soooo not suitable for that age group. Loads of killing and really frightened my 7yo boy. Adventures are about cycling bikes, sailing boats not having to kill wizards to save princesses. Might be suitable for kids who like that sort of thing but I would recommend for older kids (over 12 )but possibly the language and story are a bit limited for this group - there are certainly better options out there.

    Great book. Whimsical, fantastical, relatable.
I'm a HUUUUUUUUGGGGGEEEEE fan of Amy Krouse Rosenthal and ESPECIALLY Bridgette Bariger's BEAUTIFUL illustrations. I want to just display all the pages! The story is so sweet as well. We have the first Uni the Unicorn book and have been waiting for the sequel. My 5yo loves all things Unicorn but fell especially in love with the story of Uni and the little girl, it may help that she looks a lot like the little girl, but we read and re-read almost every day. :)

I think you should read this because it is so exciting. In one part, a giant is tricked into a big fight with a dragon. This battle saved a castle. Be sure to read this book.
