ALLLLLLLLLLRIGHTY THEN! We're doing Jim Carrey movies for the next several weeks. Our first one is a personal favorite, Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls (1995). It's the sequel to Ace Ventura: Pet Detective, which had come out the previous year, 1994. Jim Carrey really did not want to do a sequel, but he was contractually obligated to do so. None of the other actors/characters from the first movie reprise their roles. In fact, this movie could technically be considered a stand-alone, because the two movies don't relate or refer to one another. So, if you haven't seen this one yet, give it a watch, because there are SO many quotable lines. Excuse me, your BALLS are showing. Bumblebee Tuna!

We're finally here! We finally made it! THE FIFTH ELEMENT! Let's not talk about how long it took us to get here, though 😂 This movie is a favorite of ours for so many reasons, and we were SHOCKED to find out that Gary Oldman was not a fan of it. He only played the iconic character, Zorg, as a favor owed to the director, Luc Besson. We don't care that you don't love this film, Mr. Oldman, because the world loves it.

So....we might have lied and said that our next episode would be about The Fifth Element. As we've said before, we have no idea what we're doing and our memories are shit 😂 With that being said, in THIS episode, we're talking about Galaxy Quest. Considered amongst die-hard Trekkie fans to be an unofficially official Star Trek movie, this movie has a pretty stellar cast (see what I did there?), which includes Tim Allen, Sigourney Weaver, Alan Rickman, and QUITE a few more big names. In fact, Rainn Wilson, who plays Dwight Schrute in the U.S. version of The Office, made his big screen debut in this movie.

We're talking about Tremors in this one. One of the 90s sci-fi classics, this movie stars Kevin Bacon, Fred Ward, Michael Gross, and Reba McEntire. This was Reba's first movie, and she almost didn't get it, because the director didn't want another entertainer turned would-be actor. Turns out, Reba knocked the audition out of the park, and made the perfect wife for the gun-loving character of Burt.

We're talking about the movie Serenity in this episode! One of my personal favorites, because it is the movie continuation of the show Firefly that was so rudely and untimely canceled by Fox in the early aughts. This movie was made possible because of the fans of the show, and it was a perfect way to give closure. The show continues on in comic book for that details events of what happened after the movie ends.

SCI-FI MOVIE MONTH! (We're a little late. Our apologies). We are super excited for the movies we'll be talking about in the month of March. Our first movie is the super campy, super cheesy Starship Troopers! Did you know that for the coed shower scene, the director and cinematographer were naked as well, to make the actors feel more comfortable about the required nudity for the scene? Well, now ya do.

We've reached the end of our 90s Romance Movie month! The last one on the docket is You've Got Mail, starring Tom Hanks and Meg Ryan. It's kind of like Pride and Prejudice, if Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy met in an over-30 chat room and used dial-up internet.

We're almost done with our Romance Movie Month! We're talking about a 90s classic, Pretty Woman, starring Richard Gere and Julia Roberts. This is one of several "millennial" classics whose title is actually the titular (hence the word) song used in the movie. (Stand By Me, My Girl, and Lean On Me are other examples). Did you know that Julia Roberts got so nervous for THE sex scene that she broke out into hives? Well, now you do.

We're discussing 10 Things I Hate About You in this episode. The chemistry this cast had was 100% authentic, and you can tell. It's a modern-ish version of Taming of the Shrew by William Shakespeare, and it was also Heath Ledger's first American film.

We've reached Season 7 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and our beloved show has come to an end 😭😭The show still lives on in comic book form, however, so if you need your Buffy fix, you won't have to go into withdrawal. We'll continue to discuss different aspects of the show, such as villains and love interests. So, stay tuned for those episodes!
