Mark 4:39 (NKJV) - “Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.”

Life often feels like a calm sea suddenly swept into chaos. One moment, everything’s fine; the next, a storm hits us—illness, financial issues, broken relationships. In these times, it's easy to feel like the disciples in Mark 4:35-41, crying out, "Jesus, don’t you care that we’re perishing?"

Yet, this passage reminds us that Jesus was always present. While the storm raged, He was there in the boat, resting in full assurance of God’s control. His calm response to the disciples’ fear—"Peace! Be still!"—reveals His authority over all chaos, both around us and within us. Jesus didn’t just calm the storm; He calmed their hearts. He’s inviting us to experience His peace amid our own storms, to trust in His presence rather than panic over the circumstances.

Reflecting on this, ask yourself: where do I place my trust when life gets stormy? Like the disciples, we often try to handle things ourselves. But Jesus offers us a different way—faith over fear. He calls us to shift our focus from the storm to His steadfast presence. As we anchor ourselves in Him, we find a peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).

God never promised a life without storms, but He does promise to be with us and walk with us through them.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for being with us in every storm. Help us to trust Your presence and power over our fears. Bring peace to our hearts, reminding us that You are in control. May we rest in Your calm, knowing You care deeply for us. In Jesus’ name, amen.

John 2:5 (NASB95) - His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”

Do you believe in miracles? In today’s world, many find it hard to believe that miracles still happen. But if we believe Genesis 1:1 – that “In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth” – then believing in His power to work wonders should come naturally.

The first miracle Jesus performed was at a wedding in Cana, where He turned water into wine (John 2:1-11). This was more than just a display of power; it was a sign that He is able to transform, to bring fullness where there is emptiness. 

When the wine ran out, Mary, Jesus’ mother, turned to Him, fully trusting that He could handle the situation. Her faith was simple yet profound. She told the servants, “Do whatever he tells you” (John 2:5). And they obeyed, even though they did not understand what He was about to do.

This miracle invites us to consider our own lives. Are there areas where we feel empty, lacking, or in need of transformation? Just as Jesus transformed ordinary water into something rich and joyful, He can transform our hearts and situations. The key lies in faith and obedience – trusting Jesus and following His guidance, even when it doesn’t fully make sense to us.

Today, let’s bring our needs to Him, trusting in His perfect timing and wisdom. Like the servants, we can act in faith, knowing that God can bring joy and fullness into the empty areas of our lives.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for being the God of transformation. Help me to trust You with my needs, big and small. Teach me to obey, even when I don’t see the outcome. Fill my life with Your presence, and bring fullness where I feel empty. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

John 15:5 (NASB) - “I am the vine, you are the branches; he who abides in Me and I in him, he bears much fruit, for apart from Me you can do nothing.”

In John 15:1, Jesus says, “I am the true vine.” This powerful image of a vine and branches reminds us that life, strength, and fruitfulness only come through a connection with Jesus. Just as a branch cannot grow fruit by itself, we cannot produce a life pleasing to God unless we stay connected to Christ.

Jesus emphasises the importance of “abiding” in Him (John 15:4). To “abide” means to remain, to stay close, and to draw life from Him continuously. In our busy world, staying connected to Jesus can be hard, as we often feel pulled in many directions. Yet, this connection is crucial. Without it, we risk drying up spiritually, losing the peace, strength, and joy that come from knowing Christ.

When we abide in Jesus, He transforms our lives to produce the “fruit of the Spirit,” which includes love, joy, peace, and kindness (Galatians 5:22-23). These are qualities that reflect His character. But to grow in this way, God sometimes “prunes” us, removing things that hinder our growth. This pruning process may be uncomfortable, as it often involves letting go of habits, attitudes, or distractions that keep us from bearing good fruit. But the result is a life more aligned with God’s purpose.

Prayer:

Lord, thank You for being the true vine. Help me to stay connected to You, to draw strength and life from Your presence. Prune what needs to be removed in my life so I can bear good fruit and live in a way that pleases You. May Your joy fill my heart as I walk closely with You. In Jesus’ name. Amen.

What does it mean to remain connected to what truly sustains us? As we conclude our series on 'The Great I AM,' let us encounter Jesus as 'The True Vine,' as He declares in John 15:1.

John 14:6 (NKJV) - “"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

Have you ever felt lost, not just physically, but in life? You may have searched for answers to questions like, "What is my purpose?" or "Where do I belong?" In John 14:6, Jesus offers us a solution to this feeling of uncertainty. He says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me."

Imagine being lost in a foreign land with no GPS or map to guide you. Just when you feel hopeless, someone who knows the area offers to take you to your destination. You trust them, and they walk with you, ensuring you reach where you need to go. Jesus does this for us in life. He doesn’t just give us directions; He walks with us. He is the way to God, the source of truth in a world filled with confusion, and the giver of eternal life.

Today, many people feel lost in the chaos of life. But Jesus offers us clarity and direction. By trusting Him, we have access to God and can find peace knowing He will guide us through every challenge. This is not just for the future; it impacts how we live today, with purpose and assurance.

Do you feel lost, uncertain, or confused? Trust in Jesus as the way, the truth, and the life. He is the guide we need, leading us not just to heaven, but through every twist and turn in life.

Lord, thank You for being the way, the truth, and the life. Help me to trust in You when I feel lost or confused. Guide me each day, and help me to live with confidence, knowing You are with me. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

As we continue our series, “The Great I AM,” let us encounter Jesus as "The Way, The Truth, and The Life," as He declares in John 14:6. He is the only way to salvation, the absolute truth that reveals God’s heart, and the very life that overcomes death and gives us eternal hope.

John 8:12 (NKJV) - “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.”

In John 8:12, Jesus boldly declares, “I am the light of the world. He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” Imagine being in total darkness, unsure of where to go. That’s how life without Jesus feels—lost, uncertain, and disoriented. But when we choose to follow Him, we step into the light that brings clarity, purpose, and hope.

Jesus being the "light of the world" means He guides us through life’s challenges, showing us the way to truth and salvation. He is not just a source of light; He is the Light. Without Him, we remain in spiritual darkness, bound by confusion, sin, and separation from God. Yet, with Him, we receive not only direction but the promise of eternal life.

In today’s world, many are searching for meaning and answers, much like people fumbling in a blackout. As followers of Christ, we are called to reflect His light to others, just as Matthew 5:14 reminds us: “You are the light of the world.” Our lives should shine with His love, truth, and goodness, guiding others toward Him.

How can you reflect Jesus' light today? Maybe it is through a kind word to a neighbour, sharing the gospel, or living out your faith boldly in everyday life. Let your life be a beacon that points others to the ultimate source of light, Jesus.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, thank You for being the light in my life. Help me to follow You faithfully and reflect Your light to those around me. Give me courage to share Your truth and love with others, so they may also find the light of life in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
