Josh Rynderman is the winemaker for both Kos Yeshuos wines from Santa Cruz California (4 Gates Winery), and ESSA wine company based in Cape Town, South Africa. Josh and his wife Chana live in Cape Town, where she runs the business office of ESSA while he is the full-time winemaker. We caught up with Josh at home in Cape Town and discussed the challenges of harvesting grapes and producing wine in two locations 9,000 miles apart. His circumnavigation of the globe and schedule, along with his planning based on weather and specific wine varietals involved each year, make for a very interesting discussion.
