'The Future of Global Nomad Education: How do we prepare learners for jobs - and futures- that don’t yet exist?', led by Carmela Fleury and Jeneen Gacek
In this session, Jeneen and Carmela will introduce the Global Nomad Diploma, designed for forward-thinking students, parents, schools, and universities. This session will explore how knowing oneself becomes the foundation for self-validation, resilience, and lifelong learning.
Jeneen and Carmela were co-organizers of the first Global Education Meet-Up, a pioneering conference earlier this year which united educators to co-create a common accreditation for progressive and alternative schools.
Carmela is a global thought leader on the future of education and author of Creating a Global Nomad Educational System. She is the founder and host of the Global Nomad Parent podcast.
Carmela’s mission began when her eight-year-old son was diagnosed with ADHD and denied admission to an international school unless she agreed to medicate him. She shares this deeply personal journey in A Love Letter to My Young Son, June. Refusing to accept a system that pathologized difference, she became an advocate for inclusive, flexible, and personalized education - especially for neurodiverse students.
Jeneen holds an MA in Transformative Learning from Antioch University, along with advanced studies at the Graduate Institute for Transformative Learning. She facilitates workshops for parents and teens, hosts community events, and speaks internationally on mindful parenting, self-directed learning, conscious leadership, and transformative communities.
In 2023, Jeneen and her daughter co-authored A New Paradigm of Education. In July 2024, she released Parenting Unscripted: The Art of Raising a Self-Directed Kid, a guide for parents raising confident, resilient, and self-directed children.
