On Thursday 8 March 2018, International Women’s Day, the High Commission of Canada to the UK hosted Global Women, to celebrate contributions of women and girls in global life and to learn about the unique challenges they face.

The event started with an opening address by the High Commissioner of Canada to the United Kingdom, Janice Charette, where she outlined Canada’s commitment to gender equality.

The afternoon at Canada House came to a close as the speakers were invited to answer questions from the audience, chaired by Janice Charette, High Commissioner of Canada to the United Kingdom.
