  • #45- Decisions, Decisions: Who You Listen To Matters

Choices are great, right? Sometimes. But when decisions feel draining, do you have a trusted go-to for counsel? Not all advice is created equal. In times of decision-making, who you listen to matters.

Join me for a new episode highlighting the importance of advice over agreement, leaning in to wise counsel first and foremost. We’ll check out some ancient wisdom from an obscure, yet all too familiar, story.

    www.glordinary.com

    Here’s a small excerpt:

“He wasn’t really asking for advice. He was asking for agreement. And just like in our lives, when we’ve already made up our minds, we can always find someone to agree with us. Because who you listen to matters!”

  • #44- You, Me, or Bad Pizza: Discerning God's Voice

Does God go radio silent right when you need to hear Him most? Ever feel like life's extra noisy when you’re trying to zero in on that "still small voice"? Yep, been there.

Let’s chat about how we can hear God’s voice. Is He even speaking in the first place? What if I'm missing it completely? We’ll take a cue from John 10 on how to discern God’s voice for our lives.

    www.glordinary.com

    Here’s a small excerpt:

“You do know us, Lord…every desire, every fear, every thought, every decision, every crossroads. He knows. And after 45 years on this earth, my confidence is growing…yes, in my ability to hear but more so in my assurance that He speaks in a way I know how to hear.”

  • #43- The Yes Way: Taking the Next Right Step

Ever get stumped facing a big decision? Feel paralyzed with overthinking, indecision, and the what-if's? How do you figure out your next right step? Rest assured, you’re not the only one who doesn’t have all their “stuff” together. Let’s chat about the plan, the path, and the next right step. Listen in for some straight talk from 2 Samuel 22:37.

    www.glordinary.com

    Here’s a small excerpt:

“Because I don’t know about you, but when I’m on the cusp of a decision, be it an awesome opportunity or a less-than-awesome dilemma, I truly want to make the best call. But how do we take the next right step? It starts with one small yes down the path- the path He broadens beneath me so my ankles do not turn. One small yes. The yes way.”

  • #42- Prioritizing the Three R's: Right Things, Right Way, Right Time

Welcome, 2025! Ready or not, here we go!

Starting strong is easy for some people. For others? Well, maybe your “get up and go,” got up and went. Wherever you fall on the spectrum of new beginnings, let’s grab a cup of coffee together. We’ll chat about prioritizing our lives the best way possible. New year, age-old wisdom from 2 Chronicles 29.

    Here’s a small excerpt:

“Because Friend, sometimes, in order to start the right things, in the right way, at the right time, we have to undo a thing or two. We have to open some doors that’ve been closed a long time. We’ve got to make some repairs. Sometimes we need to unlearn some things…even some things that maybe seemed helpful, convenient, or “right” at the time.”

  • #41- Word Of The Year...Nope: Reflections Over Resolutions

Do you lose track of the days between Christmas and New Year’s? I know, me too! Yet, this is the exact moment most influential leaders implore us to make critical life declarations. The infamous “Word of the Year” or New Year’s Resolutions racket.

Look, I decided a long time ago I was not a “Word of the Year” kind of girl. Too much pressure. And resolutions? They’re often hopeful but not always helpful. Instead, join me and take a few moments to prayerfully ponder some reflection questions as we turn the calendar page.

    www.glordinary.com

    Here’s a small excerpt:

“These questions, or a combination thereof, become bookends as I say hello and goodbye to the changing year. Reflecting on the helpful, the distracting, the celebrations, the mundane, and the pending keeps me living the Glordinary life of one foot in front of the other. Glimpsing His Glory in the ordinary.”

  • #39- Hellos & Goodbyes: Full Circle With Psalm 23

If it feels like it’s been a year, you’re not the only one. Psalm 23 reflects a year-long journey for the Shepherd and his beloved sheep. From the home winter range, to springtime mountain paths, to shadowy valleys, to pristine summer tablelands, and back each fall to the home range again. Full circle.

Four seasons. Six verses. One constant. The Good Shepherd- preparing, protecting, providing. It really is all about the Shepherd. Join me as we wrap up and cap off our series, "It's a Psalm 23-Kinda Day."

    www.glordinary.com

    Here’s a small excerpt:

“During every season, every change, every danger, every shifting circumstance, the shepherd’s constant care and attention leads the sheep back home. Full circle. Well-tended and well-attended to. Because it really is… all about the shepherd. About his full attention at all times, in all ways.”

  • #38- When You Know That You Know: God's Goodness Chases You Down

Have you ever had a moment of surety and confidence, where you just know… that you know… that you know?

Me too, and it’s with that same confidence we begin wrapping up our series, “It’s a Psalm 23-Kinda Day.” Pour yourself a hot cup of Joe (or cocoa) and join me for the backstory. “Surely goodness and love shall follow me all the days of my life.”

    www.glordinary.com

    Here's a short excerpt:

“But, I’ve gotta say it, my confidence gets tested. Yours too, I’d imagine. We ask God, “Why?”...a lot. We question, we accuse, we falter. We assume we could handle things better, or at least faster for sure. When life is falling apart, can we confidently declare that goodness and mercy are following me? Probably not, if we’re honest.”

  • #37- Breathe In, Breathe Out: You're Going To Be Okay

Life is BUSY...and beautiful, and hard, and amazing, and complicated! (sigh) We’re inundated with places to be, things to do, gifts to buy, cookies to swap, and don’t forget to drink at least 8 cups of water per day. Add in the rest of regular life, and it’s a recipe for breakdown- physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual.

Let’s chat about it as we take a deep, cleansing breath for the soul with Psalm 23:5- “You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.”

    www.glordinary.com

    Here’s a small excerpt:

“As we inhale, we can offer a short prayer. Breathe in. “God, I can’t handle this!” Breathe out. “Make haste to help me.” Interestingly enough, that’s actually called a breath prayer. Just as the shepherd’s oil brings instant relief to the sheep, the Holy Spirit’s Presence calms us amidst the nasal flies of this life.”
