Work is a very big part of most people’s lives. Does the church have a biblical worldview about our vocation? Does the church really see working as a sacred act that furthers God’s kingdom or is that just reserved for pastors and missionaries? Is work merely a necessary evil in a sinful world or is it rooted in creation and part of what it means to bear the image of God as a disciple of Christ?

Is work merely a necessary evil in a sinful world or is it rooted in creation and part of what it means to bear the image of God as a disciple of Christ?

A person’s gender identity is inescapable, something they live with and try to make sense of always. God has a lot to say about what it means to be a man and what it means to be a woman. The way one either embraces or rejects God’s design in masculinity or femininity will greatly impact what discipleship means for them.

Perhaps the most life shaping relationship is that of a child to his or her parents. Thus, the call to parent is a tremendous responsibility before God but also an equally awesome opportunity to lead a child to respond to the gospel in faith. Parents and children alike will be encouraged to see their relationship as a key opportunity for discipleship that Jesus commands.

Christianity has something to say about marriage and singleness that is completely different than what the world would say, and for the better. While marriage reveals the relationship between Christ and his church singleness reveals a believers eternal identification with the church. Having biblical convictions about both is crucial to growing as a disciple of Christ.

As we explore church membership we will give special attention to how membership fulfills both the individual call to become a disciple of Christ and the corporate call to make disciples for the glory of Christ. Understanding why a church should practice church membership and what it means to be a member of a local church is crucial to a believer’s growth in Christ.

Jesus says to go and make disciples of all nations. If we take this as our mission, and we do, then we have to wrestle with the way that the church must be led by Godly leaders. By so doing, the church can fulfill its calling: to make disciples for the glory of Christ.

Throughout history Christianity and the church has stood for human rights, including the rights of the unborn baby in the womb. This was because things that seem like they should be self evident actually are not. For instance, murdering babies in their mother's womb. History proves that without the fear of God there are no self-evident truths shared amongst sinful humanity.
