Have you ever wondered why you believe the Lord Jesus Christ and other people that were in your circle of friends do not believe in Jesus? Or perhaps why some people used to believe and now they don't . In fact , I know people who were saved around the same time that I was , and they were very excited about believing in Jesus and the new fellowship of friends and even going to church but now they don't believe. What happened? Well this passage of scripture found in the gospel of Mark describes different responses people have to the word of God . So , stick with me and let's discover why people respond the way they do and will their response last or even get them into heaven. So-Why did you believe in Christ?

Jesus in Psalm 55:12-14

Chapter 9 It is a matter of praise and glory to God, in a special manner, that he has granted an amplification of this privilege under the gospel. The Spirit is now poured forth from above, and enlarged in his dispensation, both intensively and extensively. Those on whom he is bestowed, receive him in a larger measure than they did formerly under the Old Testament. From there comes that liberty and boldness in their access to the throne of grace, and their crying 'Abba, Father,' which the apostle reckons among the great privileges of the dispensation of the Spirit of Christ, which those of old were not partakers of.

Romans 1:5 teaches that grace comes through Jesus Christ and results in gospel service, the obedience of faith, and the proclamation of Christ among all the nations for the sake of His name. The blessing of God is closely connected to a humble life and dependent prayer. Daniel was a man who knew God's Word. He set his face to seek the Lord, humbled himself honestly, confessed his sin, accepted God's righteousness and pleaded for mercy, on the basis of God's own name and glory. His example reminds us we must allow His Word to change our hearts before we ask for anything. When we humble ourselves before God, acknowledge our need, confess our sin and seek His glory. Then and only then, we place ourselves in a posture to receive His grace and blessing.
