Over 90% of your mental life is subconscious. Your subconscious mind is on the job 24/7 and never sleeps. With that said, how in tune are you with your subconscious mind? How are you interacting with it and what you are you doing to make sure that it is in a healthy state?

With us today we have Michael Harris, author of “The End of Absence: Reclaiming What We’ve Lose in a World of Constant Connection”. This book has been quite the read as it brought into light exactly how much of our lives we are wasting away staring at our phone screens, our ipads, our laptops, etc., instead of spending quality time with people we truly care about and instead of spending quality time alone.

It’s very true that some people just don’t know how to spend time alone. Why is it that we are always seeking constant communication and seeking constant connection? Are we more attached to our phones than to people? Tune in!

Based on Carl Jung’s extraversion and introversion theory, people are split into two categories: people are either introverts or extroverts. Introverts are stereotyped to be shy, poor conversationalists, loners, depressed, without many friends, geeks, and at worst, serial killers, whereas extroverts are stereotyped to be outgoing, sociable, talkative, energetic, need to at the center of attention, and live off of being around a lot of people.

In line with these stereotypes, it is expected that introverts are not natural ‘entrepreneurs’ in such an extroverted society like America. However, Bill Gates, Larry Page, Mark Zuckerberg, Charles Schwab, Steven Spielberg, Michael Jordan and Julie Roberts, to name a few, are leading entrepreneurs and role models that have stood out and changed America in a number of unique ways.

When we think of ‘riches’ we often think of money and wealth. However, Dr. Napoleon Hill viewed riches to be more than just a number sitting in ones bank account – rather, Dr. Hill viewed true riches to be found in goals and dreams and in relationships. To be truly rich, Dr. Hill states that you must be rich in all aspects of life, both personally and spiritually.

The corrections department is an entirely different world beyond ours. Life that takes place behind bars usually stays behind bars but today we will take a closer look at what goes on from a C.O.’s perspective, what it takes to be a C.O. as it tops the list on America’s worst place to work, and the dynamics of the relationship between a C.O. and an inmate. Today we have James Nelson, who spent his entire life serving this country via the military, the sheriffs department and then the corrections department until he retired in recent months.

We are privileged to have today retired NYPD officers Russell Williams and Mike Byrd with us on the show. In recent months, I have had a growing number of young women coming into my office for treatment with eating disorders, namely EDNOS, which stands for Eating Disorders Not Otherwise Specified, Anorexia Nervosa and Bulimia Nervosa.

Before we start, I want to make it clear that EDNOS, Anorexia and Bulimia are hardly about food itself; food and the act of consuming it is just a byproduct. Rather, for some it is about achieving perfectionism, while for others it is about achieving the same kind of “high” one gets from cocaine, drugs, and other substances. The act of purging gives individuals a sort of “high” that keeps them going. Moreover, people that suffer from EDNOS, Anorexia and Bulimia use their power in being able to control their weight and appearance as a defense to hide the hurt, anxiety, fear, and OCD that goes on internally. To have the power to control one’s weight seems to substitute their lack in having control over past events and in other area of their lives.

Anorexia and bulimia become an addiction. The tricky thing is, you can quit booze, you can quit drugs, and you can quit sex, but you can’t quit food.
