Hands-on introduction on the inner working of NoiseChisel by Dr. Mohammad Akhlaghi. NoiseChisel is a program in GNU Astronomy Utilities (Gnuastro) that is in charge of separating signal from noise in a 2D image or 3D datacube (and as a side-effect, measuring an accurate background level for the data). This video was made with Gnuastro 0.15 (released on 2021-05-31). Updates in NoiseChisel will be published in the Gnuastro manual (discussed in video).
