What if changing your mind doesn’t mean you failed?
What if it means you finally started listening to yourself?
In this episode of Go Be Too Much, we’re talking about identity, failure, self-awareness, societal expectations, people pleasing, self-trust, authenticity, fear of change, and giving yourself permission to become someone different.
So many of us were handed a version of what a “successful” life is supposed to look like. Graduate. Go to college. Build a career. Get married. Have kids. Be productive. Be dependable. Pick a path and stick to it.
But what happens when the life you were supposed to want doesn’t fit anymore?
We talk about the pressure to stay consistent with who you’ve always been, why changing can feel threatening to the people around us, and how easy it is to confuse outgrowing something with failing at it.
Because maybe you didn’t fail.
Maybe that job served its purpose.
Maybe that environment doesn’t work for you anymore.
Maybe the version of you who made that decision had different information, different needs, and a completely different life.
And maybe you’re allowed to make a new decision now.
We also get into perfectionism, performative identities, family expectations, fear of judgment, curiosity, silence, self-sabotage, accountability, and learning to meet yourself where you actually are instead of where you think you should be.
You don’t owe the world consistency at the expense of your own growth.
You’re allowed to change your mind.
You’re allowed to outgrow things.
You’re allowed to want something different.
You’re allowed to become someone you never expected to be.
Because you cannot fail at becoming yourself.
