Back in 2018, before travel restrictions were a thing, we decided to take full advantage of living in the EU by traveling from one country to another on what turned out to be our very first international bike tour. 

To be fair we didn't really know what we were getting into, but that's part of of the charm, isn't it? Follow along with us as we make our way northeast from Venice to Koper on a border-hopping trip.

The Cammino di Oropa is a 65km long trail in Piemonte, a region in the northeast of Italy.
Shrouded in mysticism and spirituality, this trail brought us through woods and up mountains, making us visit secluded monasteries and sleeping in cells in hilltop sanctuaries, and ultimately led us to the marvelous Basilica of Oropa where a unique religious symbol is kept hidden.
