Tanji Johnson Bridgeman, was born and raised as an Army brat, she attended the U.S. Air Force Academy and she got into bodybuilding while she attended the Academy. In 2001, when she won the NPC Nationals and got her pro card which made her decide to pursue a career as a pro fitness athlete. After competing in fitness for a while, she decided to try out for American Gladiators.

In 1979 Steve Henneberry bought his first Muscle Fitness magazine and when he saw the cover, he tought to himself “what would it be like being Mr. America?”. A decade later, with discipline and hard work, he became Mr. America. He joined the American Gladiators at first to fill up for Turbo, who had a knee injury, but the crowd liked him so much that he ended up staying and becoming a household name.
