If you want to go fishing in Michigan this weekend (Feb. 14-15, 2026) you won't have to pay for a license because it's FREE FISHING weekend.

Marcee Wardell, with the DNR Fisheries Division , says there are 1.2 million anglers in the state, And if you want to find a good fishing spot, Wardell recommends checking out the state's weekly fishing report.. She spoke with WWJ's Beth Fisher.
