The episode is all about Sabbat. Which was the day of rest for God’s people given to them as command during the time of Moses (Exodus 20:8-10). In this episode we see Matthew, Simon, Quintus, Nicodemus, Mary, and host of others dealing with different things in their lives while Jesus is operating behind the scenes. Matthew is investigating Simon and Nicodemus is investigating Mary’s miracle. And all things build up to a face-to-face interaction with Jesus at a table.
