CSEL Host Sarah chats with NC counsellor Michell MacIntosh about KORU: a free 4-week mindfulness course for Niagara College students.
This program was developed and researched by Duke University, the program helps students learn to live with less stress and to manage life more effectively. Each session teaches and provides time to practice both a skill and a meditation. Between classes, students are asked to practice for 10 minutes a day — research shows that mindfulness and meditation are extremely successful when they are actually applied. Students will receive access to the KORU app, which provides an easy guide for daily practice, and they will receive feedback and support from the facilitator through the app.
