  • What Does The Host Country Of The World Cup Get From The Tournament?

Years before a World Cup tournament, nations bid, grapple, and sometimes even pay bribes in order to secure the rights to host. Why do they do that? Is it just because they like football so much? Or because they enjoy opening up their borders to visitors? Of course not.

There are a bunch of stuff countries expect to get from hosting the World Cup, and that’s why they want that opportunity so bad. But the thing is, the positives usually come with a lot of negatives, so when we ask what the host countries of World Cup tournaments get, we’re looking at the entire package. Come along with us!

  • 5 Billionaires Who Could Buy Liverpool

Fenway Sports Group, more commonly known as FSG, the current owners of Liverpool, have announced that they are ready to sell the Merseyside club.

The American sports conglomerate purchased the Premier League giants back in 2010, and you have to say it has been a pretty successful period for them. Under their ownership, Liverpool won the Premier League for the first time, got to 3 Champions League finals, winning one, and won a couple domestic trophies.

But in spite of what you might term a successful period, the majority of the Liverpool faithful were always calling for FSG to leave the club because they were considered to be a little too close-fisted for the modern game. And their support of the European Super League didn’t do much to endear them to the fans.

Anyway, following the recent announcement from FSG, it seems like those fans are finally going to get their wish.

But considering that they didn’t really like the owners before them, Liverpool fans will be really praying they get lucky with their next club owner. Well, let’s quickly take a look at the potential candidates who could take over from FSG in the near future.

Here are the top 5 billionaires who could buy Liverpool:

    1. Sir Jim Ratcliffe

    2. Sir Martin Broughton

    3. Lebron James

    4. RedBird Capital Partners

    5. Middle Eastern suitors

  • Does The Premier League Ruin The England National Team?

Since English fans first started singing “it’s coming home”, it has never come home. In fact, football has only “come home” once ever, and that was way back in 1966. Since then, it has been poor officiating like in 1986 at the World Cup, hard luck like in 1998 and 2010 at the World Cup, and near misses like in 2018 at the World Cup and 2021 at the Euros.

We could give all sorts of excuses for the lack of success at international competitions for more than half a century now, but they would hardly hold water because the simple fact is that the 3 Lions should actually be doing much better than they have been doing.

And so many things could be blamed for these underwhelming outings; the FA, bad officiating, poor coaching, lack of zeal from the players, poor decision making on and off the pitch, lots of things. But what if the problem is actually with the country’s local league – the Premier League?

How could the Premier League be ruining the England national team, you ask? Well, come along with us.

  • History Of The Vuvuzela And Why It Is Banned Today

Everybody says the 2010 World Cup is the best of the modern era, and come on, isn’t it? Apart from the captivating matches themselves, there was a lot of excitement, culture, great music, the Jabulani, and of course, the vuvuzelas, among other things.

Hate it or love it, those vuvuzelas gave that tournament a lot of character and individuality. If a match is put on the screen right now and you hear that deafening sound drowning the stadium, you just know it’s a game from the 2010 World Cup.

But that musical instrument, if we’re allowed to call it that, was not able to cross over from that World Cup tournament in South Africa to mainstream football all around the world. Why? Because it was banned.

  • 8 Things You Didn't Know About Khvicha Kvaratskhelia

Napoli are in blazing form this season. They’re top of the Serie A table and still unbeaten in the league. They topped their Champions League group, embarrassing European giants like Liverpool and Ajax – 4-1 and 6-1 respectively – on the way.

They really look like an amazing side this season, and much of that is thanks to their new boy. A certain 21-year-old with a tongue-twister for a name – Khvicha Kvaratskheila. Try saying that name out loud 5 times and tell us how you do.
